Emmy's Top 10's of 2007 - Shall We Bitch Slap Her Yet Or Wait Until Fall?

Last year the Emmy's implemented a new system where a first batch of nominees was wittled down to 10 by a set of panelists, then from those final 10, it would be wittled down to the final 5. Sadly, the nominations still sucked.

Let's see if a second go around will help the Emmy's this year? Thanks to GMMR for the tipoff.

TOP 10 DRAMA SERIES FINALISTS
(In parenthesis is name of sample episode viewed by judges)
Boston Legal ("Angel of Death")
Dexter ("Born Free")
Friday Night Lights (Pilot)
Grey's Anatomy ("From A Whisper to A Scream")
Heroes ("Genesis")
House ("Half-wit")
Lost ("Through the Looking Glass")
Rome ("De Patre Vostro")
The Sopranos ("Soprano Home Movies")
24 ("Day 6: 6 a.m. - 7 a.m.")

Not Nominated:
Deadwood
Rescue Me
The Tudors
The Shield
Brothers & Sisters
Gilmore Girls
Battlestar Galactica
The Riches

and may I add, Veronica Mars? What's 24 still doing on the list? At least Friday Night Lights made the cut. I love me some Boston Legal but BOSTON LEGAL? Still, generally a better selection than most previous years.

TOP 10 COMEDY SERIES FINALISTS
(In parenthesis is name of sample episode viewed by judges)
Desperate Housewives ("It Takes Two")
Entourage ("One Day in the Valley")
Extras ("Daniel Radcliffe")
My Name is Earl ("Robbed a Stoner Blind")
The Office ("The Coup")
Scrubs ("My Musical")
30 Rock ("Hard Ball")
Two and a Half Men ("Apologies For the Frivolity")
Ugly Betty (Pilot)
Weeds ("Cooking with Jesus")

Not Nominated:
The New Adventures of Old Christine
How I Met Your Mother
Everybody Hates Chris

Um, What is Two and a Half Men still doing there? Or Desperate Housewives? Interesting how the game is played. I would have thrown in How I Met Your Mother and The New Adventures of Old Christine over Scrubs (good show, weak season) and Two and A Half Men (weak show, good decent single eps from time to time). Here are a couple of the panelist judges opinions on the voting precedings.
