Rock Star: Supersomething

OMG, they really did pick Lukas... like the rumours had said...Where the HECK did those rumours come from considering this was live (it was LIVE wasn't it?).

Of course, now the band has to find a new name since the judge is forcing the show to pick a new names since some Cali punk band had the name Supernova first.

Wow, so a Canadian has won again! Woo us! Man, maybe the Horseshoe Tavern is good luck...

Summer Reality Finals Week - Big Brother 7: All Stars, Rock Star: Supernova, Canadian Idol

So the final of Big Brother 7: All Stars was pretty much 56 minutes of terrific, if not horrific revealings, with the show taking no holds bar and showing the backstabbing directly to the offended and watching the honest reactions of Janelle, Erika, James before they could readjust to put on their PR face, and then the two minute let down when Boogie won All Stars. I mean, Mike Boogie, the overgrown Vanilla Ice wannabe (not even the real thing. just a Wannabe) is the Big Brother All Star winner? The early evictees had it right. Erika and Boogie weren't deserving to be the final 2, Janelle and Will did, but alas, that's the problem with this game. Sometimes we are left with two losers in the winners seats (see last years Yvette or Maggie).

Canadian Idol. Well, at least ONE of the two are deserving to be in the finals. We have Eva Avila in one corner, the one I noted from the very start to win this thing (or at least deserving to win this thing), and Craig, possibly the most annoying contestant since William Hung. Who will win it Sunday (with another appearance by Nelly Furtado? and how did they get Tony Bennett and Cyndi Lauper earlier this season?)? Please, if you're going to give me Boogie, at least give me Eva on this one.

Over on Rock Star: Supernova, I've been enjoying Jason Newsted's comments, but I'm getting mighty tired of Dilana. She may have peaked too early and her attitude stayed (despite her meltdown and then apology). Toby is still my fav as a person and he is enjoyable to watch but his singing is still decent if lackluster in a Nickelback kinda way. It would be cool to have another Torontonian win this thing two years in a row, but Lukas is good but I can only take so much. That leaves Magni who slowly won me over and seems the most professional and ready to take on the lead role. Who will win? If rumours are true, Lukas, personally, I really have no idea and not really sure I would care whichever way it went.

Trash TV (It's Like a Fricken Trainwreck) - Canadian Idol, Big Brother 7: All Stars, Rock Star: Supernova, Celebrity Duets

It was all a fricken trainwreck last night.
Trainwrecks of the night:
- Chad Doucette is gone from Canadian Idol but Craig and Tyler are still there?
- Danielle has gone bezerkos in the Big Brother house after realizing she's been sunk. Now, girl was the best player not to have won and was robbed in Season 2, but she has NOT been playing the game well this year and SHOULD have joined forces with Janelle a LONG time ago instead of gunning for her the whole time. Now it's too little too late. Silly girl, never try to go after our beloved Janelle. Still, I had to feel sorry for her when Evil Erika nominated her.
- The drama and aftermath of last weeks Dilana insult statements continued. Rock Star basically spent the first quarter of the show following Dilana break down, break a glass and thus accidentally injuring Magni with a cut on his forhead. If Dilana wasn't the frontrunner, she would have been thrown out of the house so fast by this point. Meanwhile, Toby was great as backup for Storm and was kinda hilarious pulling up those girls on his own song. Got to give him props, he's not the best singer left but he sure has a sense of humour about it all that I love. Meanwhile, Ryan is getting better and better, too bad I can't stand the guy.
- And finally the biggest train wreck of them all, Celebrity Duets. Was it me or was Queer Eye Jai Rodriguez BETTER than Destiny Child's Michelle Williams? Though celebrity non-singer my ass since he came from Broadway (and actually, he REALLY came from Toronto doing Rent first in this city). So not only could he sing, he could sing in heels and a dress (he played a wicked Angel). Everyone else though was a fricken trainwreck that was so cringeworthy but amusing (to a degree) that when it was finally the judges turn to talk, I didn't see THAT coming. Who would have thought that watching WWE's Chris Jericho or Cheech Marin would NOT be the biggest trainwreck of them all? The judges Marie Osmond constantly refering back to herself, and even more so, watching Little Richard out-do Paula Abdul as the craziest loopiest judge of them all was the biggest trainwreck of them all for Tuesday night.

Summer Reality - Big Brother 7: All Stars, Rock Star: Supernova, Canadian Idol, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria

Man, what the hell is going on in the Big Brother House? I was catching up from Sundays ep along with last nights new ep and knowing what happened from the live feeds from the spoilers, I'm all confused as to who I like and who I want to win (if Janelle doesn't of course). So as of last week, when HOH George nominated James and Erika, James won POV, George succumbed to Mike Boogie and Will's school bullying and cowardly nominated his Jedi teacher Howie, and Howie was out (since Erika had her not-really-that-secret alliance with Chilltown since she's dating Mike Boogie outside the house (can we say double EW?)). Howie reacted pretty badly on the outs but I can't say I blame him and I probably would have done too. Everyone else was ooing and awing about the shame of his exit but I'm not blaming Howie. Meanwhile, that leaves our poor Janelle all alone (and milking the sadness for all its worth).
Oh yeah, then Mike Boogie won HOH, put James and Janelle up, then Janelle won POV, so now George is back up (way to trust Chilltown eh?). James is apparently furious and not talking to anybody in the house and wanted to see his contract and argued that Janelle cheated (though the show clearly pointed out that she didn't.)

So at this point, these are my little thoughts.

Howie - still Love him.
Mike Boogie - still Hate him but I do give him props for basically getting what he mostly wants.
Will - I think I'm like Janelle, I Hate him for winning and being the puppetmaster but love him for the same thing.
Erika - loved her, now Hate her for basically relying on her secret dating connection to Mike Boogie and thus Chilltown and coasting through the game so far with their help.
Danielle - Love her game play but disappointed that she's so against Janelle when she really should be teaming up with her to go against Chilltown who she has mistakenly alligned with.
James - Hate him for being the exact same betrayer as last year.
George - Hate him for being a cowardly betrayer but kinda loving his new alliance with Janelle
Janelle - She is almost like a pheonix or something... she keeps rising from the ashes! GO JANELLE! LOVE HER.

Meanwhile, with Rock Star's late start, I sadly had to go to bed (how un-Rock Star of me), but I caught just enough to see everyone gunning for the original song. Of course they all want it now. They were all yelled at by Supernova to DO THAT. UGH...

On Canadian Idol, which I have pretty much given up on, Steffi D is FINALLY OUT. 5 weeks to late mind you, but FINALLY OUT. Maybe I can watch again? Though Craig is still on too and I'm not sure if he's much better.

Over in England on the BBC, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria sounds like the gayest thing in the world. This is the reality show contest to cast Maria in the new revival of The Sound of Music for London's West End. Andrew Lloyd Webber as producer (and vocal participant in the show apparently). I mean. I hate the guy and almost every musical he has ever written (almost. not all. but most) but I would love to see how he is on a reality show . So Graham Norton as host! John Barrowman as a judge? WHY DON'T WE GET THIS SHOW HERE?

Summer Reality - So You Think You Can Dance, Rock Star: Supernova, Big Brother: All Stars, The One

Let me get the rest out of the way first before I get to the good stuff...

Bottom 3 Josh... after playing dirty to get the song that you wanted, I am glad you were bottom 3 from Rock Star... so much for choosing your own fate. Didn't you listen to Earl (or for that matter, Carson Daly)?

Kaysar, we love you, but you DOLT... Why didn't you get Chill town out of the Big Brother house? ARGH... that's how they survived the FIRST time around... and now Nakomis or Diane will go, while the ever annoying Boogie stays. Janelle was right. You made a HUGE mistake. On the other hand, bravo for Diane's crying performance and pity plea... bravo... because if you seriously didn't expect All Stars to be cutthroat, maybe you DO deserve to be voted out.

George Strombo, you look seriously bored on The One. I'm seriously bored watching.

Finally. Like I've said for the past few weeks, HOW MUCH DO I LOVE SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE? I admit defeat since I totally dismissed this show when it started up again.

Now we are in top 10, new partners, 2 dance each as a pair, and one solo. Im tired just saying it all.

Sadly, some people had an off night. Poor Martha and Ivan were not up to their normal levels. Maybe chemistry caused it but even their solos were kinda plain. Poor Ryan is good but not good enough and the one I think is most forgettable (usually, well... cause I forget about him).

Meanwhile, I am LOVING LOVING LOVING Travis as always. New partner Heidi as always. Donyelle as always. Natalie as always, and her new partner, Benji who has totally grown on me throughout the weeks and possibly the main rival to Travis right now (at least within the guys). Dimitry continues to flaunt his chiseled body (hey, if it works right?) that I sort of get surprised everytime he performs because you forget that he is actually quite an amazing dancer. Still, the Chipendales thing needs to be toned down just a notch. I mean... look at Dimitry totally flaunting it. DISGUSTING.

Who will go tomorrow? I'll really be sad about any of the girls at this point, and will only remember that Ryan is still in the game when he gets cut tomorrow.

Summer Reality - Rock Star: Supernova, Canadian Idol Top 10 Results, Big Brother: All Stars

Where IS Supernova going? From any indication last night, the three members seemed to be looking for completely different things in the rockers. The good news is that they all seemed to favour my new fav Toby Rand and his Aussie voice.

My top four are now Toby, Josh, Lukas and Dilana though Jenny from Vancouver isn't bad either.

On Canadian Idol... hmm... who cares... So far no one really stands out and in fact, most are annoying me this year. Maybe it's because they all seem too young thing year (only three are in their 20's and everyone else is still in the teens). In fact, I can't believe Kati Durst and Steffi D made it. They are HORRIBLE. and Yes, Steffi D is apparently in her teens, despite the fact she looks 43. At this point, my money is on Chad Doucette to make top 3. He sings fine and he's cute. I know, usually that won't just do but it seems like a weak year to me. I would give it to Ashley Coulter (Allyssa Milano's CDN double) but she doesn't seem to know what her strengths are.

Meanwhile, over in the Big Brother: All Star house, let the games begin! First of all, Jase. Not so annoying this year... in fact... kinda amusing. Chicken George? Not so annoying this year by being annoying to all the houseguest and sort of throwing the whole alliances and manipulation off by being sort of clueless in the house (or is that his game?). Meanwhile, yeah Janelle again for winning HOH AND VETO! LOVE YOU! I mean, it'll create an even bigger target on your back but then again, you already had the biggest one going into the game (by being the most popular).

Love that both Marcellas and Erika hold grudges to Danielle and Allison respectively. IT WAS A GAME. IT WAS YEARS AGO... Still... ads to the drama and maybe they can self destruct themselves to leave Team Six intact (LOVE you James, Howie, Kaysar and of course. JANELLE!)

So, I'll kinda be sad if Danielle leaves tomorrow since she WAS the best player not to have won (seriously, she never actually took a side... she throws out a situation and sits back... too bad this time Allison sold you out), but Allison sure makes for good drama as the biggest (female) liar ever to live in the house (Will gets the male honour).

Meanwhile, NBC will be airing Project Runway for the next two Mondays! Bring on sweet Tim Gunn! Biting Nina Garcia and the ever-bitchy Michael Kors!

Reality Overload: Big Brother 7: All Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Rock Star: Supernova, Canadian Idol, enough summer reality tv for ya?

So the leaks on the net were completely accurate and the 14 Big Brother 7 (not 12 as they officially said) houseguests entered the house earlier this week. Yey Janelle, Kaysar, James and Howie from Season 6 made it. Boo Mike Boogie and Jase did too. Now everybody wants Season 6 people out but Janelle and Jase won first HOH and now Allison and Danielle are up on the block. Should be a fun trashy summer!

Have I noted how much I'm loving So You Think You Can Dance? How fun and how hot and how gay is that show? Still loving my early picks Travis and Martha (see pic above). But also loving Allison and Ivan (even though he looks like he can be broken in half by just touching him, let alone dancing a wicked Hip Hop), and of course Dimitri. Heidi looks like she can be the most annoying girl ever and in theory I would despise her and yet I also feel that she and I would be best friends if we met. So I'm not sure yet... but she's kinda fun to watch in a southern cheerleader gone dirty dancing kinda way.

On Rock Star: Supernova, the Toronto candidate Lukas Rossi has yet again stood right out off the bat, as JD Fortune did last year. Yey Canada! I messed up the recording though so only caught the last third of the show and then had to rely on the recaps. Man the recaps can be decieving though since the boys sounded better than the girls but then found out it was really vice versa, which was proven today in the results show when they showed longer recaps.

Anyhoo. I also finally watched the finale for American Idol... yes. it's irrelevant at this point but what a madcap weird show THAT was... Prince? Mary J. Blige? Toni Braxton? Dionne Warwick? Meatloaf? Live? Though Elliott Yamin and Mary J. were TIGHT... The whole show was kinda ridiculous in a train wreck entertainment sort of way.

Oh, and Canadian Idol? No favorites this year yet... In a way a better sounding group yet none really seem to have any star power... not that excited about it this year...so far.

Okay. here's an extra clip from last week's So You Think You Can Dance... man I really do love this show... probably why I've gotten all excited to see A Chorus Line that starts in SFO this month and moves to Broadway come fall.
