Lost on Lost and some Others

Still behind in TONS of shows (so will need some weekend to catch up on Heroes, Boston Legal, ER, Men In Trees, The OC amongst others), but finally saw Lost Fall Finale, I DO. Don't really have a comment other than... WHAT HAPPENED???

I think I'm going to have to watch it again (and I'll have time since the next freaking episode isn't until February 2007) but why isn't Kate RUNNING like JACK is yelling at her to do???

Okay. So The Others Fionnula Flanagan just signed on. I wonder if shes going to be one of the Others?

In other rants, I'm actually quite sad Justice is kinda gone (the Fox website says it will be back Dec 11 but you never know with these things). I was just about to comment about how great last weeks episode was when Matt Letscher (Burton from The New Adventures of Old Christine) and Mackenzie Aston (Lost, The Facts of Life) had to defend themselves.

Also, is the rumour about Brad and JP from Survivor: Cook Islands true? That's kinda hot. Though I haven't had time to watch or even tape it since The Office and Ugly Betty have had priority but maybe I'll catch up online since they are streaming it on both CBS and Global TV's website.

I think I may be dropping What About Brian since I haven't really watched since this season's premiere (and it wasn't that good) but how in the heck did THAT get picked up for a full season while Veronica Mars is still waiting? Plus, did I hear that Marjorie (Sarah Lancaster) left anyways? Wasn't she the only reason to watch?

Also, Marty is finally back on Gilmore Girls this week! Woo and a hoo!!! I love Marty and I thought the actor Wayne Wilcox basically had the best moments of the Rent movie.

What About Brian - What about Second Chances

What about Brian? What About Second Chances?

Well you sure aren't making it easier What About Brian. I'm giving you one more chance (really because an Everwood writer has joined the show), but do you really think ditching Raoul Bova is a good move? I know he didn't say much but does her really have to? Did you think we were not already tired of the love triangle between Marjorie, Adam (whose hair kept me distracted in some weird admiring gaze all episode) and Brian (whose hair didn't)? What was with that lame crash at the beginning? Are we using car crashes at any point now to create a nice capture of interest? Even Dave and Deena's marital problems are getting mighty tiresome fast.

At least they've added Amanda Foreman to the cast! Yey! She was hilarious in Felicity and a nice match to Marshall on Alias so I'm excited to see her again (on yet another JJ Abrams show).

Prison Break, The New Adventures of Old Christine, What About Brian

Like they couldn’t see that truck coming from a mile away? They were in the middle of the field… or was that the whole point?

Not the greatest Christine, cause I think I already miss Burton, but if the whole show was just a set up to bring back Sad Dad (guest star Andy Richter), it was worth it. Also, loving Hamish Linklater in a comedic role (as Christine’s brother).

So What About Brian? I SO want another singles dating show, and now that Love Monkey is cancelled for sure, I was hoping this would be the one to fill in the gap between Felicity and thirtysomething, I’m not sure this is it, but STILL giving it a chance (remember, I’m the hopeless romantic, much like Brian, which is probably why I believe he stayed with crazy Car Girl for so long). Still, they could learn from their own show Felicity or Everwood and stretch out stories a little longer and develop them with much more depth. The whole open marriage arc within the first two episodes would have lasted half a season on Everwood (then again, since no one watches Everwood, maybe people just don’t want depth? and are you feeling my love for Everwood? Can I say Everwood any more often? The CW, are you listening?).

What About Brian - Pilot

Do we need another show about a singleton and their troubles in dating amongst a world of seemingly happy couples? HELL YA.
Is this the show to fill that Love Monkey/Sex and the City/Ed/Friends/Felicity/ thirtysomething gap? I’m not sure, but it was a half decent start, though a little underwhelming considering JJ Abrahms name is attached (as executive producer), as it wasn’t the all-out Homerun that the pilots for Felicity, Alias and Lost all were.
Still, never being a Camden’s 7th Heaven Family fan, Barry Watson as Brian didn’t irritate me, and again another nice little touch of having “Julie” Amy Jo Johnson appear as a guest, since it seems a member of Felicity now must appear in every pilot JJ works on.
Still, the premise could work (well. Since it was basically stolen from an idea I had as well (not that its particularly THAT original), but the 3 couples problems seemed to be thrown so fast at us in the pilot, that we still don’t really know Brian all that well. What ABOUT Brian?

I’ll give it a chance. If only for “Madison” Sarah Lancaster (Everwood).
