No One Knows Anything About Anything - American Idol, Lost and More

Lot's to catch-up on, boy a week sure goes by fast. (Thank goodness a lot of shows were repeats this week, though isn't this Feb. sweeps? What happened to that? Does that even exist anymore?)

American Idol - Top 36 Group 1 Results

Other than freaking out and thinking people might actually vote for Tatiana and VFTW might win the day AGAIN, I can't believe I was actually correct with my predictions!!! (Pat on shoulder! I know, it's a proud moment. Look, there's not much else in my life right now okay?) Now what happens with Anoop and Ricky? Will they get Wild Carded? And if so, what happens in Wild Card week again? Do people get to vote? I forgot how it works now. (Like is there 12 Wild Cards that the judges pick and another 3 get voted through by the public or is it all the judges choice?).

Because pretty much everyone else left that I like all seem to be in Group 2 (including Mishovonna, Matt Girard, Allison Iraheta, Kris Allen, Jasmine Murray and Adam Lambert). Who does that leave for Group 3? Basically Lil Rounds and Arianna Asfar. Then again, after seeing Group 1, don't count your chickens just yet...

The good news is, my pool pick Danny Gokey made it to the Top 12 (and he was the last to sing, which I think get's me a few more points!). The bad news is, Danny Gokey made it to the Top 12 and will undoubtably milk his wife's death for many more weeks to come. Yet from the web and talking to friends, seems like a LOT of people are falling for it all. Ugh.

More on Lost, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Lie To Me, Worst Week, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, The Bachelor, True Beauty, The Amazing Race, Project Runway Canada, 30 Rock, Ugly Betty, The Office, Private Practice, Desperate Housewives, Gary Unmarried:

Lost - This Place Is Death, 316 - Eps. 505, 506

Jin's alive, most of the Frenchies that found him are now dead by their own young Danielle Rousseau, Charlotte and co. are dying from the spinny time-travelling, Daniel Faraday seems to be everywhere (and by everywhere I mean that timewise and not location wise and I love that I actually have to point this out when it comes to this show), Jack is going to go back to the island after some persuasion from Mrs. Hawking and a dead (from suicide?) Locke, more kissy kissy with Jack and Kate. Hurley, Sayid, Sun, Jack and Kate (and a dead Locke) are on the way back to the island... and more and more...(with Ben in tow and Frank at the helm of the plane? Another crash? What a way to start the episode like the pilot again though!) Seriously, we're already on episode 6 now? Seriously, we're only on episode 6 now?

I'm loving this undecipherable season! Jin's working for Dharma now? WTF? LOVE IT!

The New Adventures of Old Christine - Reckless Abandonment, Honey, I Ran Over the Kid - Eps. 415, 416

Old Christine is really just a slightly more pleasant Elaine and who has a nicer family isn't she? In fact, that flashback looked SOOOOO Seinfeld in last week's episode that I wasn't even surprised when she ran over Richie in this week's episode. And still she's trying to "win" against Richard as the best parent. See, it's Elaine with a better wardrobe and hairstyle.

Lie To Me - Love Always - Ep. 104

Still enjoy the show as something in the background but it's going to really have to start adding more to keep me tuned in. The slow looks into their private lives is helping. Cause sooner or later, those video shots of them pointing out famous people lying is going to get tired.

Worst Week - The Epidural - Ep. 115 - Season Finale

Well, it's been one season and they've planned the wedding, had the wedding, survived the pregnancy and now finally had the baby! They actually had the baby! But not before SAM (and not Melanie) got an epidural.

Again, it was totally ridiculous and again, it was totally hilarious. Kudos to the writers for continuously coming up with more things to get Sam in trouble (and for twisting it a bit sometimes and having the parents Angela and Dick (the always terrific Nancy Lenehan and Kurtwood Smith) involved/in trouble) but I don't think anything could have worked without this awesome cast led by Kyle Bornheimer as Sam who seriously retains his cute charms even while he makes the dumbest moves around. And Erinn Hayes' Melanie could have been annoying but she's so loving and understanding without being condescending that it's really a joy to watch.

Desperate Housewives - In a World Where the Kings Are Employers - Ep. 515

I'm loving all the kids right now.

Love that Andrew makes more than Orson but I wish we saw more of Andrew and his former-porn-star-hubby. Love the kid who plays MJ. Too cute and too hilarious. And the Scavo son who isn't the twin, the one with the cartoonish big nose is simply adorable with his red hair and all.

Brothers & Sisters - Lost and Found - Ep. 315

I know Twilight is huge and all but did they have to go and cast Robert Pattison as Ryan technically-a-Walker? Okay, it's actually newcomer Luke Grimes but the similarities down to the greasy hair is uncanny.

Meanwhile, is it me or are Rebecca's parents simply the worst people on the planet?

The Bachelor - Jason Mesnick - Ep. 1307
True Beauty - Ep. 107

I knew Jason wouldn't pick Gillian but I thought THIS was the episode DeAnna was coming back. Boy, I feel more duped than Gillian. But boy, they've strung along this whole season with her return, and I can't WAIT! Plus a bonus After-The-Rose episode... dun dun dun!!!

And sadly, I sort of can't wait to see the three remaining "beauties" find out the twist on True Beauty, even as non-event as it will probably actually be. I did like how the judges actually seemed clenched and furious debating between Laura and Joel. It was kinda hilarious how into it they got and how serious they debated about who was less "beautiful".

Project Runway Canada - Re-Fashioning the Houses - Eps. 204

Don't forget, you can apparently watch it on youtube and catch up with us in Canada!

(SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED)

Though at this point, does it even matter? Sunny won AGAIN. Genevieve (I think it was her, I get confused between her and Kim, maybe it was Kim since Gen was on Sunny's team), Kim points out that Sunny's outfit is the same bustier with different layers overtop but who cares when it looks THAT good.

Though generally, I thought most of the outfits looked good this week but I guess the YSL team didn't follow the instructions and did Rive Gauche Ready to Wear and not Haute Couture. I don't know YSL well enough (I'm gay but I'm not THAT gay) so I couldn't really tell but I guess Brandon was stupid enough to admit the same fact. Seriously, you should be smart enough to know that Iman will pounce on you for that. Rowr (And I don't mean that in the cougar way, I mean that in the fashion is vicious way).

The Amazing Race - Don't Let a Cheese Hit Me - Ep. 1401 - Season Premiere

That cheese thing was the funniest/most horrifying thing in a long time.

And Luke is CUTE!!! And apparently gay (which I kind of figured just moments into the episode). So that makes 3 gay guys. Though I wonder about Victor too.

So far, so good with the race, as teams I like are leading the race so far! Which means nothing of course.

And new graphics! I'm not sure I love them but I do like the time stamps and editing so we get a better sense of the actual race in a real time format. It's about time!

30 Rock - St. Valentine's Day - Ep. 311

Once again, Jessica Westfeldt is on Grey's Anatomy and her real boyfriend Jon Hamm is on timeslot competitor 30 Rock. Which one did they watch? I wonder.

Loved Liz's Valentine's Day date with Mr. Hot Hamm and his ungelled hair, while Elisa takes Jack to church. Oh god. Another hilarious episode!

Ugly Betty - The Courtship of Betty's Father - Ep. 314

Oh god, Ignacio is having an affair with his nurse. Another okay episode. But the zing is gone and there's not enough Mode and not enough Marc and Amanda and definitely not enough Betty at Mode. (Though this week's episode sounds like it's a return to that FINALLY).

The Office - Lecture Circuit: Part 2 - Ep. 514

Doh, Michael goes to see Holly and Holly isn't there. Damnit, I thought this was the episode Amy Ryan was returning. Duped again, but entertainingly duped nonetheless. Though the point where Michael cut off a section of Holly's yellow sweater might have gone a bit too far in believability. I did enjoy Pam taking over Michael's presentation.

And Angela's cat. The hairball thing might have gone too far but I still laughed. Just like I laughed at Kelly's birthday party and gift.

Grey's Anatomy - Before and After - Ep. 514
Private Practice - Ex-Life - Ep. 216

Finally, the crossover happens and finally the episodes on both shows are actually quite decent, but harsh reminders of the great casts they have assembled and what a waste they've become in the trite writing. I mean, no wonder Heigl and Knight are rumoured to be out, I barely remember they are on the show anymore. In fact, I'm not even sure what's going on during Grey's since I feel like Callie, Christina, Bailey and Alex barely have storylines anymore (on top of disappearing George), and even I forget where Mer and Der are in their relationship. Who HAVE they been concentrating on?

Still, seeing Audra, Taye, Eric Dane, McDreamy altogether was kinda cool. It may have bought themselves a bit more time with the shows but I still think I'm dropping PP and I'm not sure how much more patience I have for Grey's.

Gary Unmarried - Gary and Dennis' Sister, Gary's Ex-Brother-In-Law - Eps. 114, 115

A few months ago I asked what happened to Matthew Lillard. Apparently he's now guest starring on bad sitcoms that I still secretly love to watch. Lillard shows up at Gary's ex-brother-in-law (hence the title of the episode, can you guess what happens in the previous episode? See above pic if you can't figure it out. This show ain't that complicated) who is back to help with Gary's tax audit. And Lillard... is still exactly like Lillard we remember from Scream days. Though I still won't forgive him for the 2 hours I'm never getting back for Scooby-Do, though that was really my own stupidity for renting it free from the library. Stupid me and that I'll watch anything that's free... which might be the reason I still keep watching this show.

Brand New Day - Gossip Girl, How I Met Your Mother and More

Vance at http://tapeworthy.blogspot.com:

Gossip Girl - You've Got Yale - Ep. 216

Blair gets waitlisted to Yale while Dan and Serena get in (which somehow leads to another break up? What the?). Plus a new teacher (who looks younger than the rest of the ragamuffins) doesn't appease Blair's needs, and the wicked witches of the Upper East Side are there to comfort the big B as she's about to wage war on the new teach. Awesome! I'm scared already!

Oh, when did Nelly get guts? She is slowly making her move! Slowly, but surely! Nice moves Nelly Yuki!

And Dorota still deserves a special Emmy.

And in a move I didn't see coming, Lily adopts Chuck so that she becomes his legal guardian and Jack loses Bass Industries. Ouch! Then Jack tries to rape Lily? Ick. Then Chuck saves the day. Yey! (You know, if you really thought about it, the fact that Chuck is technically still a kid, this IS a lot for someone to take).

How I Met Your Mother - Three Days of Snow - Ep. 413

I don't think the episode was as carefully constructed as they thought it was (though I just spent the weekend doing a full series marathon of BBC's Coupling which had some well crafted and sometimes perfectly constructed episodes (See 105 The Girl with Two Breasts, 206 Gotcha, 208 Naked, 301 Split, 304 Remember This, 307 Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps... oh hell, I'll just have to write a whole post on the awesomeness of Coupling (UK version only)) so I have really high standards in my mind right now) but the 3 storylines revolving around the snowstorm (very apt this year though! Good weather predicting!) was cute but predictable. Though it wasn't as clever as they thought it was, I still got all misty eyed when the band came into the airport with Marshall to woo Lily. Loved the ending, as predictable as it was.

More on The Big Bang Theory, Worst Week, True Beauty, The Bachelor, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Flashpoint, Corner Gas:

The Big Bang Theory - The Friendship Algorithm - Ep. 213
They never have a B storyline do they? I just noticed that. I guess when the show starts revolving around Sheldon, that's what happened. Poor Johnny Galecki.

Very cute episode. Loved the fainting. Loved the chart to make friends! I wish there were more of Sheldon and the little girl though. That was cute verging on creepy (in a hilarious way).

Worst Week - The Puppy - Ep. 113
I never want to have a baby... EVER. EWWWWW OHHHHHH GROSSSSSSSSS. EWWWWWWW.

The Bachelor - Jason Mesnick - Ep. 1303
True Beauty - Ep. 103
I know. I should know better. And I still watched the full episodes. For the third week in a row. And I still can't tell any of the girls apart on either show unless they were super bitchy, so like Megan and Erika on The Bachelor and Monique and Chelsea on True Beauty. Meanwhile, at this point, isn't JC a shoo-in to win True Beauty? I mean, who cares but really, it's in the bag, no? On the good news side, Jason took off his shirt to make a chest mold... and this is why I wasted spent 2 hours of my life, only to waste spend another hour watching Ray take off all his clothes to "slut" "strut" around the pool.

Desperate Housewives - The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened - Ep. 513

For the 100th episode, they sure spent a lot of time on Beau Bridges (as Eli Scruggs) who magically appears in last weeks episode but seems to have been connected to all the women of Wisteria Lane for years. How convenient.

But I'll let it go for celebratory's sake and the fact that it was all an excuse to flashback to the earlier years when Rex Van de Camp was still alive! (Yay Steven Culp, Oh how I miss you), when Gaby just moved from the runway to Wisteria Lane, when Edie was still just a slut on the block, when Bree wasn't a company, and when Lynette looked harried (well. some things don't really change...). It was fun looking back at it all but it lacked an overwhelming punch that a big show like this could/should have.

Brothers & Sisters - It's Not Easy Being Green - Ep. 313

Putting a big rifle in Kitty's hands, a la Palin was cheap. Putting a big rifle in Kevin's gay democratic hands was cheap, but funny nonetheless.

Putting Nora with the architect... was... well... I can't remember what happened now. Putting Rebecca with Kyle (Eric Christian Olsen) as a way to make Justin jealous was amusing. Putting Sarah with Ethan (Will McCormack) was hilarious, and creepy because he sounds a bit like Matthew Rhys.

Flashpoint - Backwards Day - Ep. 202
What the hell was all that? With the two women rolling around as one is trying to stab one another? And they don't MOVE IN? If I was Amy Jo Johnson, I'd be pissed too, no matter how cute David Paetkau was. I mean, she lost Ben already, she has every right to be pissed. Never cross a woman scorned... oh wait... now we get back to the two rolling women with the large scary knife.

Corner Gas - Reader Pride - Ep. 609

Man, this show is SOOOOO Canadian. Love it. I wonder if non Canadians find this show funny? It's SOOOOOOO Canadian.

Oh No They Didn't! - Gossip Girl, Worst Week, How I Met Your Mother and More

Vance at http://tapeworthy.blogspot.com:

Gossip Girl - Gone With The Will - Ep. 215

You would think Dan would know better by now and seek out a cell phone as soon as he sees everyone starring at him. Especially when Blair's non-"obedient minions" are starring at him. (Kudos to minion #3 by the way for being in Gran Torino and getting a smackdown from Clint Eastwood himself! A strangely feel-good cathartic movie btw. A movie I shouldn't have liked but did.)

The dynasty-like hostile takeover over Bass Industries got quite intense between Jack and Chuck after Bart's will was read. Blair played CEO wife, while Chuck played with some hookers and coke, while Jack played him. I felt like the shoulder lapels should have been bigger and Alex Darlington would walk in from the next room. The boardroom shuffle hasn't been this entertainingly dramatic since Wall Street. Meanwhile, Blair loses more stocks than she could have ever imagined. But don't worry, none were the bitch stocks. Loved her comment to Serena after her facial reaction said it all to Blair. Blair: "I can't wait 'til you get Botox."

Meanwhile, Rufus and Lily's lovechild is alive and well but they were told that he died. On the heartwarming side, Serena finds out but finally calms down and S and Eric and Jenny and Dan become one pseudo happy family. Oh, and Nate has a heartwarming bro-moment with Dan too. Be still my heart!

And another appearance by Eric's boyfriend!

Worst Week - The Article - Ep. 110

I actually lifted up my hand to block the view and screamed out "oh sh!t" TWICE during the episode (once when Sam walked in on his mother-in-law at the Gynecologist and then again when he stole the article about seeing his mother-in-laws vagina from his father-in-law and then dropping it for his mother-in-law to find). Considering the show is a continuously repetitive series of oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-this moments, the show sure keeps things surprising and very very funny. And yet somehow really sweet. Seriously, this show turned out FAR better than anyone could have guessed. It's also remaining funny far longer than anyone could have guessed it could.

More on How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Corner Gas, The Bachelor, True Beauty

How I Met Your Mother - Benefits - Ep. 412

Props to the best usage of Spencer, Heidi and Kim Kardashian EVER, AND in one of the funnier episodes of the season, if not series. Though the cute kid in Lily's class might have taken the cake after finding out his parents are divorcing after Lily's good.

The editing and pace of the episode, jumping back from fighting Ted and Robin to being in bed, to Marshall seeing the exes in bed, to Barney going apesh!t on a TV set and then repeated until Barney finally figures out how to stop the cycle with lots of milk and a dishwasher. It was genius! And heartbreaking (Barney's to be exact).

The Big Bang Theory - The Killer Robot Instability - Ep. 212

I'm so glad Howard (Simon Helberg) got an episode to shine but now I noticed that Rajesh (Kunal Nayyar) nailed all his comedic moments. I mean, he was always funny with his facial reactions but every word spoken was hilarious this week.

And the show is finally branching out from Jim Parson's Sheldon and matching up Penny with the others. She's really becoming a strange glue to these boys.

Corner Gas - American Resolution - Ep. 608

I'm not sure what was funnier. The contest between keeping to each ones new years resolutions or tricking Oscar and making him think everyone thinks he's American. What a way to glorify the stereotypes. Hilarious!

The Bachelor - Jason Mesnick - Ep. 1302

Nope. Still can't tell any of the girls apart. As soon as I start liking a girl, I'll find myself mixing them up with someone else, or hating them again, or realizing I have no idea who they are. Just keep showing Jason without his shirt on and I'll keep watching. Plus I'm waiting for DeAnna's return. I'm such an easy sucker.

True Beauty - Ep. 102

I think the best part of the show is still at the end when the cleaners come to take down the losers portrait. Hilarious!

I will admit, Billy was kinda cute being so proud of his outfit and all.

Tears of Holiday Joy - The Big Bang Theory and More

The Big Bang Theory - The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis - Ep. 211

I'm not sure if I was crying because I was laughing so hard or if I was crying because I was so happy for Sheldon when Penny gave him the autographed knapkin (by Sheldon's hero Leonard Nemoy) for Christmas. I think it was a little bit of both.

I think I cried laughing/cried cried even more when Sheldon tried to return the generosity with baskets and baskets of soap AND a hug.

It was also nice to see a hottie nerd (Michael Trucco, Battlestar Galactica) around with Leonard and Penny both having a mancrush. Too bad we found out hottie nerd was married, and this was AFTER his date with Penny.

More on How I Met Your Mother, Worst Week, Chuck:

How I Met Your Mother - Little Minnesota - Ep. 411

We do NOT say aboot. Or oot. And everyone is afraid of the dark.

But yes, we do say "sorry" for everything. Even when it's clearly not our fault.

Chuck - Chuck Versus Santa Claus - Ep. 211

Someone crashes into the store and takes it hostage. Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!

Chuck and Sarah bond during the hostage and the sparks continue to fly. Emmett manages to promote the store during the hostage while Tony Hale still manages to steal the spotlight from his small guest role. Adam Baldwin still grunts with the best emotion possible as Casey. Ellie and Captain Awesome are finally brought into the Buy More mix just as the hostage happened. And Morgan for once, saves the day! And Big Mike and Captain Awesome make for awesome tackling buddies! Plus Reginald VelJohnson! Whoa! Back in his Die Hard role! And no Urkel in sight! Woo!

I liked the hostage twist involving the Fulcrum and compromising the Intersect Chuck but I liked the little dark intel Chuck sees when Sarah decides to kill the Fulcrum/cop agent a point blank range. All to keep the secret of Chuck safe and to save his life. Still. Ouch.

Worst Week - The Gift - Ep. 110

Are you KIDDING ME? How cursed IS this family?

Sam buys a Cello for Melanie and this time ANGELA has HER worst week and breaks it.

Meanwhile, Sam convinces Dick to buy a car for Angela and manages to get it stolen right under his face (and bow).

Unbelievable. Yet unbelievably hilarious!

Laughing At All the Drama - Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl and More

Brothers & Sisters - Just A Sliver - Ep. 310

Always loved Scotty but the clincher here was his reaction to the news of Kevin's positive paternity results after Justin and Kevin are tested to see who really fathered niece Elizabeth. Luke Macfarlane's subtle reaction of reluctant acceptance and disappointment all while feigning some sort of acceptable decorum is why he's been a welcome addition to the cast.

But first, when Kitty, Kevin, Justin and Tommy try to get out of Thanksgiving dinner with Nora, Sarah's the lone brother or sister left to attend the family festivities (Sarah: "You're All Dead To Me... I hope you eat salmonella and die". Ouch!) but alas, Tommy and Julia (she's still in the show? She's still in the opening CREDITS???) discover their baby is gravely ill and discovers she needs a transplant, preferably from her real father. Which means they would need to track down which sperm, Kevin or Justin's, swam faster after they donated it to impregnate Julia.

After some shaky storylines this season and an inconsistent quality, it was nice to see an emotionally satisfying yet still funny episode of Brothers & Sisters, returning back to what it does best, in their Thanksgiving episode, albeit a week late as it seems. Shouldn't we be at the Christmas episode by now? Still, I won't complain considering the lack of truly great episodes this year. And at least they brought the Holly down to a minimum this week (which may have added to the quality).

Gossip Girl - O Brother, Where Bart Thou? - Ep. 213

And here's another show that bounced back from a bad one to make a truly fantastic episode (granted generally speaking, I think Gossip Girl's been having a great season). After last week's Vanessa-centric (groan) episode, Gossip Girl moves on by killing Bart. And so unceremoniously too in a car accident.

I've actually liked having Bart around, as the wedge between Lily and Rufus and as a chain to Chuck so I thought they killed him off too soon and could have milked his character a bit longer. On the other hand, Bart's death sure is keeping the ball rolling.

Chuck is devastated and blaming the Humphrey's for Bart's death. Blair is trying to comfort him back to no avail. CeCe returns as the new wedge between Lily and Rufus just as they've decided to move forth together, while Serena decides to reject Dan because... well... dating your potential step-brother is too creepy even for Gossip Girl.

And all the death talk leads Cyrus to move up his wedding with Eleanor, much to Blair's disappointment.

Alas, we get a wedding, a funeral AND lots of Chuck (Ed Westwick) looking mightily... well Chuck-ish with his frowny piercing eyes modeling for the fashion mags look. PERFECT!

Plus you can't deny that Chuck's final breakdown into Blair's bosoms didn't tear you up just a little? Even the little bastard deserves some empathy even after threatening Lily by exposing her institutionalized secret (oh, that lasted just about 9 months probably?) and continually hating on Dan just because he looks better with Nate (oh come on, you know there's a bromance jealousy lingering in the air).

So out with the Bart and in with the CeCe who now leaks the Lily baby info to Rufus and a new wedge is formed. Love that this soap knows how to dramatize the adults just as well as the horny kids.

More on Desperate Housewives, Privileged, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Worst Week:

Desperate Housewives - A Vision's Just a Vision - Ep. 510

Oooh, the gay porn episode and the story of Andrew's new FIANCE, Dr. Hottie er... Alex (Todd Grinnell) yet in a terrific twist, it doesn't exactly go the typical porn-past story route and turns it into a HEARTWARMING story. Still, it was hilarious to get there when Bree invites the neighbour gays (Lee and Bob) to a dinner party with Andrew and his new manfriend/roomate Dr. Alex when Bree discovers their relationship. When Lee and Bob recognize Alex from a gay adult video (one which they just recently rented! Though does anyone still RENT them anymore?), Bree susses it out from them and follows up by RENTING the video herself to bring it to Andrew's attention. (WHY oh WHY couldn't they have shown Bree renting the video? Comic gold totally lost right there!) In the twist and to ruin Bree's surprise, Andrew already knows and accepts Dr. Alex's filmography, especially considering Andrew's own sordid past, and Bree and Andrew hug it out. Awwww...

I do hope that doesn't mean the end of Andrew's plotline's because it's nice to see him around more often.

Meanwhile, MJ hates Katherine for dating his father after overhearing Susan saying she'll get back together with Mike. Laughed out loud when MJ threw the bowling ball on Katherine's toes.

In another heartwarming turn, Carlos discovers Gaby has sold his beloved Lou Gehrig and after fighting about it, with Gaby dancing her way on a table to get it back (it made sense in the show), Carlos realizes how far they've fallen when he discovers Gaby's empty closet and cue awww... Carlos sells the baseball to buy Gaby a new dress.

Finally, Porter is arrested for burning the bar down that killed a few people and Dave backs up the accusations. The story is getting even more intense but let's talk about what's most important. Doesn't Lynette's (and by that I mean Felicity Huffman) new do look fantastic? It's nice to know that when you've just bought off the woman whose been sleeping with your underage son and survived a tragic fire, one can always manage a fabulous makeover.

On top of that, it's nice to see Lynette having more kids than just Porter and Preston with a cherubic and cartoonish looking Parker (the adorable Joshua Logan Moore) finally speaking a few (and funny) lines.

Privileged - All About the Ripple Effect - Ep. 112

Speaking of horny kids, Sage may not admit to her crush on the help Luis, but Marco sure knows it (as does the rest of the staff) and gets Rose to feign a crush on the new chef to make Sage jealous. Meanwhile, the smart and sneaky Sage knows a thing or two about revenge and sets Rose up with HER crush Zach played by Dave Franco (again? he's not THAT great yet keeps getting roles. Do they think older brother James will show up or something?).

Gotta admit, Sage (Lucy Hale) sure plays cute well. Plus love Rami the butler. Between Dorota and Rami and Marco, I think there need's to be a new category at the Emmy's. Best Actor (or Actress) Playing the Help.

Meanwhile Megan's mom pops up, Lily apparently got married, and Will continues to be jealous of Charlie's relationship with Megan (but you have to admit, Michael Cassidy definitely has a charming and cute naturalism and his chemistry with JoAnna Garcia is palpable).

The Big Bang Theory - The Vartabedian Conundrum - Ep. 210

Okay, I've never had a problem with Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and I've always liked her presence on the show but she's been SOOOOOO great lately on the show as one of the guys and I love her rapport with Leonard post-dating is sweet and her reactions to Sheldon make them the new comic duo to beat on the show.

I'm actually shocked that Stephanie never met Penny before this week's episode in which Penny gives Leonard advice when he freaks out after discovering Stephanie and him were already living together.

How I Met Your Mother - The Fight - Ep. 410

Will Sasso always kind of freaked me out but his "wig" look just looked plain freaky. No wonder he learns to beat everyone up with the reactions he must get.

Between Barney punching himself in the face (and his lesbo pick up tactic), Lily's devoted yet mocking tone towards "manly" Marshall and Robin's newfound crush on the brawny Barney, the episode worked far better than one would have initially thought and I did like the clips of classic HIMYM scenes that conveniently showed Doug (Will Sasso) in the background.

Plus, with the Oh-No-He-Didn't dumped-by-his-fiance slight at Ted, Doug's comeuppance was hilarious despite all the violence on our good natured show (showing Ted's hand hurtin' after was a hoot too).

Worst Week - The Apartment - Ep. 110

There is life after the wedding and Worst Week is going to continue to mine the Oh-My-God-I-Can't-Believe-The-Predicament-Sam's-Getting-Into!

This time with boss Rachael Harris! And a promotion for Sam! And a toilet leak and pigeons and another disaster at their apartment that will force the newlyweds BACK to the in-laws. Normally I would groan if it weren't as hilarious done as they've done here.

November Sweeps - Doing Some TV Blogging Clean Up in December

It's been a while since I've TV blogged so I'm doing some massive clean up with November Sweeps stuff and some of this week too. Yes, I know it's already December. Deal with it.

Pushing Daisies - Oh Oh Oh... It's Magic - Ep. 206, Robbing Hood - Ep. 207, Comfort Food - Ep. 208

More about the half-brothers, a dead Magician Fred Willard and Jennifer Elise Cox as a gold digging widow! Plus was it me or was there FINALLY an opening title sequence with wooshy names flying over the fields of daisies for Pushing Daisies, and just as the show gets cancelled (which I'm not even going to really accept or acknowledge right now or else I'm going to start crying, plus I'm hoping Ned can bring the show back alive with his special touch)?

And just as Chuck's little secret had been found out AND we dig up Charles Charles (Josh Randall! Ed)!

Then little Ned is baking a lot of pies for the all the hungry boys at school.

I'm really hungry for pie again now. I did have a craving for fried chicken until the Colonel started eating himself. Ew. But boy, Ned was super cute as he was seeking the secret recipes (of 500 herbs and spices! KFC beat THAT!). I'm going to miss seeing Lee Pace's super cute face on TV everyweek. BOO ABC.

Meanwhile, killing Dwight by keeping Charles Charles alive was almost as funny as anything Olive says. And brilliant plotting. (And I haven't even gotten to the "Eternal Flame" part!)

Holy, Lee Pace's hand is HUGE compared to Kristen Chenowith's.

Privileged - All About Insecurities - Ep. 109, All About Overcompensating - Ep. 110, All About Love, Actually - Ep. 111

For a cute fluffy show, things are advancing quite steadily with Charlie moving in with Mandy, Laurel finding her old flame Miles (and the true father to her daughter), Will gets a job, loses the job and makes and breaks up with Megan (wait, where did it end off again? Are they on or off? I lost track) and Rose cheats on her exam and Megan catches on and follows through. All that plus a new cook is in the kitchen and he's intriguing Sage!

Okay, it doesn't sound like much but leave it to Privileged to make it all wonderful to watch. Bonus for tending to go on the moral high ground without sounding preachy or being boring.

More on Bones, Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, The Office, 30 Rock, The Amazing Race, Survivor: Gabon, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Gossip Girl, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Worst Week:

Bones - The Con Man in the Meth Lab - Eps. 408, The Passenger in the Oven - Eps. 409, The Bone That Blew - Eps. 410

Okay, the killer was so obvious on the airplane but still. Ew. But do airplanes really work that way? Why do shows and movies always show the galley downstairs?

I did love Bones reacting to the clapping for solving the case when Booth points out it's for landing the plane. Why DO people do that?

As for Booth's brother (the always hot and adorable Brendan Fehr from Roswell and CSI: Miami) showing up and kissing Bones? Awesome! Apparently some people didn't like him but I'm for his appearance and according to The TV Addict, will be back! Yay Dan for finding that out! Plus it's just all practice for the REAL Bones Booth kiss!

Ugly Betty - Tornado Girl - Ep. 308, When Betty Met Yeti - Ep. 309, Bad Amanda - Ep. 310

Still continuing to balance high camp with some actual depth of emotions, I'm still loving this season. So much goodiness and the Tornado episode felt extremely cinematical with some great camera shots. All the location shooting within New York is certainly helping.

Who knew Ralph Machio is looking so good these days? Loved that Marc got to bring the bad news to Betty that she got the Yeti slot because she was the token ethnic which brings a bit of harsh reality into the boldly coloured world of Betty. The hilarious turn as Betty and Amanda try to con their way out of a restaurant bill that switches over to the drama between the two new roomies is the whiplash in tone that makes this show work at its best.

Plus seeing Broadway's Aaron Lazar as one of the two Italian lotharios conmen is pretty wicked.

That and Justin. More Justin please! I mean, how could he even CONTEMPLATE not going to see Wicked when Randy blows him off. Yet still Justin is AWESOME! Along with Claire with Angela Bower... er. I mean Judith Light rocking the three lines she has each week. Like I've said time and time again, this show has excelled in throwing numerous stories and snappy lines to all its cast members except for poor Christina who at this point has become therapist to an Emmy-deserving Vanessa Williams as Wily.

Still, the ensemble is so strong that any pairings usually work wonderfully (though I still wish for more Justin and Wily). And while I love Amanda, Marc and Betty together, I thought the Amanda and Betty roommate seemed a little contrived, even by Betty standards, but it seems to be working and I'm totally loving it.

Grey's Anatomy - These Ties That Bind - Ep. 508, In the Midnight Hour - Ep. 509, All By Myself - Ep. 510

It's not even that I'm bothered by the unpopular storyline of Izzie and Denny making ghostlove. It bothers me most is that Denny Duquette is always used to save the show when the show is letting all the other storylines fall apart with loose ends (Callie and her disappearing girlfriend Erika, interns cutting up interns, pig patients, that I don't even know or care where in the relationship Mer and Der are in, that Dr. McSteamy seems like a glorified extra at this point as they try to usher in new cast members including a ridiculous Mary McDonald with Aspergers (the actress deserves better than leftover Boston Legal plots), the always unpopular Melissa George, the hot but at this point misused Kevin McKidd, all as they've just kicked off the well-integrated Brooke Smith). I mean, LOVE Jeffrey Dean Morgan and now that he's become a slightly bigger star thanks to his initial Denny run and that he's still willing to return just as The Watchmen opens early next year, he's becoming the crutch the show relies on to boost any emotional connection we have left with the show and to remind of us the better times of Season 2. Come on Shonda, you can do better than that (Or maybe she actually can't, especially considering how mediocre Private Practice is). Still, I'm willing to see where she plans to go with this Izzie and Denny thing since she apparently HAS a plan. She has a plan right?

The Office - Business Trip - Ep. 507, Frame Toby - Ep. 508, The Surplus - Ep. 509

Thanks to my friend Tony, the trip to Winnipeg wasn't filled with stereotypical Canadianisms. Actually, it was filled with barely any of Canada at all and basically one giant plug for hotel concierges, the modern day geisha!

And yay! As much as Michael hates it, Toby is back! Yay! I always loved Toby/Paul Lieberstein. Am I the only one that considers him cute and endearing?

Not as endearing as Pam putting lipstick on to win her way to new chairs with the new surplus. Love that Jim got the shivers as Pam bossed him around.

Okay, Dwight and Angela getting married all under Dwight's secret plan? Weird and shocking and creepy and kinda funny actually, especially since Andy was watching on. Creepy for sure but I had to admit I laughed.

30 Rock - The One with the Cast of 'Night Court' - Ep. 303, Gavin Volure - Ep. 304, Reunion - Ep. 305

This season has been pretty great so far but I just noticed, has Judah Friedlander or anybody from the writing crew been on at all?

Meanwhile, as they are stuffing every episode with a special guest star (Jennifer Aniston! Steve Martin! Janel Maloney! Okay, she's not so big but I liked her from The West Wing, some of the cast of the same NBC time slot owner from my childhood Night Court!), Kenneth is still making me laugh the most with his little bits (usually involving the elevator for some reason, with him crying with the girls reunion (with Aniston) and telling jokes outdoing Tracy and Jenna).

Though Jenna as the wolflawyer was pretty good. And Aniston was pretty good as Liz's crazed ex-roomate. Though I think I loved her crazed ex-high school classmates at the reunion even more for hating Liz for being the geek hater. Who knew Liz Lemon was the MEAN GIRL!?

I love/don't care for Steve Martin. I actually find his old SNL stuff usually bleh but I LOVE LOVE LOVE L.A. Story but I found him annoying here on 30 Rock and was more entranced by Liz and Jack's interplay. Though the twist was amusing for a moment. But the episode was really great (and this whole season for that matter) because of the great duo Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin have become. Who would have first thought way back when?

Survivor: Gabon - The Brains Behind Everything - Ep. 1708, Nothing Tastes Better Than Five Hundred Dollars - Ep. 1709, I Was Put on the Planet for This Show - Ep. 1710, The Good Things in Life Aren't Easy - Ep. 1711

Randy so had it coming and it was AWESOME!

I can't believe Kenny is still in the running. At this point, I'm almost hoping for Sugar to win. Or Bob if he makes it to the end and doesn't get blindsided himself.

I know the point is for the weaklings to outmaneover the strong players and usually I like the underdog but I've got no attachments to most of this sad lot. Corrine is annoying. Kenny is annoying. Crystal is annoying. At this point, doesn't the gang realize they need to blindside Kenny and vote him out? Seriously, I don't feel sorry for this lot.

Though I do feel bad for Matt. Until he proposed. Seriously, isn't he like only 24? I know he and his now fiancee look in their 30's but still. 24. So young. Really? (No offence Linz)

Boy. Corrine's post-elimination speech. Bitter a little? What did Sugar ever do to her? I liked her "team" but I never liked her. Still, I only feel bad about this because this leaves Bob alone out there now.

The Big Bang Theory - The Panty Piñata Polarization - Ep. 207, The Lizard-Spock Expansion - Ep. 208, The White Asparagus Triangulation - Ep. 209

Sara Rue! Oh yey!

And yes, we all know Sheldon IS the show but can I say that they have finally integrated Penny into the show really well? and her repartees with Sheldon are superb and hilarious right now. Even more than Sheldon and Leonard. Though maybe not as funny as Howard and Rajesh.

How I Met Your Mother - Not a Father's Day - Ep. 407, Woooo! - Ep. 408, The Naked Man - Ep. 409

Woooo! Jamie Lynn Sigler! In a role that seems a bit small for her but whatever! And WOOOO! Nakedness!.

The recent episodes seemed to have unified the gang and the show as a whole again so while it still isn't as funny as some of their best episodes, it seems to be floating in enjoyable territory.

Worst Week - The Vows - Ep. 107, The Cake - Ep. 108, The Wedding - Ep. 109

Okay, Sam's kissing mom was a little much but Fred Willard is always welcome and grandma Olympia Dukakis just simply kicks ass!

Still, they finally got to the wedding! Now what? I thought they would have milked it for a whole season (or show) like the failed Big Day but that's probably why I love this show because as one note as the show sounds, somehow it manages to move forward and seem reasonable. Okay, sometimes I smack my head at what happens, but still, I guess I do everything at home in my bare feet too so I guess I can't totally blame Sam for taking out the bags of broken crystal glasses and then spilling it EVERYWHERE.

But for all the outlandish things that can happen, it's still more likable, realistic and sympathetic than any Ben Stiller movie.

Gossip Girl - The Magnificent Archibalds - Ep. 211, It's A Wonderful Lie - Ep. 212

Never a fan of Vanessa's, she's only palpable when she's with Nate. Well, anyone is palpable when they're with Nate (see the Duchess). Still, how the heck is she with Nate again and we are to feel sorry for her when poor Jenny is left on the block?

I'm officially over Aaron and anything related to prolonging this silly game of keeping Serena and Dan apart which has become futile and boring.

On the other hand, using Bart Bass to keep Lily and Rufus apart just revs up the sexual tension and amps up the opportunities for spies, backstabbings and Chuck walking in on Serena so I'm all for it.

I'm also in full support of a guest star Emmy nomination for Dorota!

The Amazing Race - I'm Like an Angry Cow - Ep. 1308, That Is Studly - Ep. 1309, You're Gonna Get Me Killed - Ep. 1310

I almost teared up when Dallas and Toni were eliminated from the race. I almost teared up when Dallas talked about how great his mom is. Who knew Dallas would turn out to be the stud of the race and not the crazed Gino his hair first led us to believe?

So now that my favorite team is out, I'll throw my support back to Nick and Star. Even Ken and Tina aren't annoying me now but I can't believe Andrew and Dan are still in the race. What the?

Granted, Andrew and Dan's marching segment in Russia was possibly one of the funniest things I've seen all year.

Desperate Housewives - City on Fire - Ep. 508, Me and My Town - Ep. 510

Okay first I didn't see the Porter/Anne baby coming, then I didn't see the baby not coming... coming. THAT was a nice twist! I only wish we were more invested in guest Gail O'Grady's Anne to have made it an even bigger shock.

Ditto with the reveal of Andrew's new boyfriend doctor (Todd Grinnell). I know there's probably something with the doctor/patient confidentiality but it could have been a funnier reveal if Todd ranted about Bree and Orson and not just making it seem like they were just another random bickering couple. Still, yum for the future eps!

Eva Longaria's been on a role with Gaby who must get her groove back now that Carlos will probably be able to see again, and Marcia Cross is still rocking Bree. Even Teri Hatcher has been hilarious and enjoyable (loved her comment about her high metabolism when Gaby was feeling fat) but in the end Felicity Huffman is still turning in another emotionally fulfilling performance as Lynette as she tries to solve all of Porter's problems (and a slight reminder of Tilda Swinton in The Deep End).

Brothers & Sisters - Going Once... Going Twice - Ep. 308, Unfinished Business - Ep. 309

If I had one criticism with Desperate Housewives, it was the wasted opportunity to use Steven Weber properly. Well, he apparently just had to wait one hour later on ABC and return back to Brothers & Sisters to surprise Sarah and her new fratboy co-workers to close the business deal. Well, maybe not just business. More like "bidzness" ya know!?

On the other hand, I'm still not sure if Dave Foley was properly used here as Justin's anonymous friend who Justin tries to set up with Saul. That was awkward. I know they meant that on purpose but still. Awkward. Love the Kid in the Hall but he's also looking a little sad.

I'm always in support of a storyline that will bring in an architect so I'm actually liking Nora's new house purchase story more than I thought I would, but I'm SOOOO tired of the evil Holly at this point that even while she's justified at hiring Rebecca in the former Walker's family business, it still seemed to blatant to unnerve Tommy and gang that it just became unbelievable.
