Vance loved what may have been Mia Michael's last choreography for SYTYCD on So You Think You Can Dance Canada's Top 6. (Tapeworthy)

The TV Blog Coalition - One Step Forward, One Step Behind

It's amazing how a few days sick at home and I can catch up with everything on my TV backlog and a few days away and out and about for the holiday weekend and how easily it was fall behind again. Still watching the way I've noted on my Tapeworthy sidebar and so far the new season has been good to most returning shows, but I'm really going to need to purge a few since my system can't handle taping 4 shows in one time slot. It's almost enough stress to get me sick again. Oy!

Here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about this week:

We keep hearing that the only thing keeping us from an Arrested Development movie is scheduling conflicts, so BuzzSugar checked in on what each cast member is up to now. (BuzzSugar)

For those that may only know The Avett Brothers from providing the soundtrack to Landry and Tyra hooking up will want to check out their latest album I and Love and You. Scooter even points out how you can download the title track for free and legally. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

Vance agrees with Mia Michaels who said that the remaining Top 4 Girls in the current So You Think You Can Dance Canada Top 8 is the strongest ever. But Vance still loves Vincent best. (Tapeworthy)

If the idea of George Clooney with ridiculous 21 Jump Street hair make you excited, you might want to learn about Sunset Beat. (TiFaux)

The TV Blog Coalition - Returns and Point of No Return

Most of the shows have returned now, but still waiting for Ugly Betty and 30 Rock, both of which I still love (I don't care what you all say about UB, it still makes me laugh). ABC was smart enough to push the season premiere of Ugly Betty to next week, now starting Friday Oct. 16th (instead of on the long weekend because Friday on a normal weekend wasn't already hard enough for TV shows to survive (see Dollhouse ratings. Ugh. And just when I caught up too). 30 Rock will start the day before on Oct. 15th.

Hoorah! Can't wait! Not that there isn't enough to watch already? I seriously need to purge. I try to give new shows a few chances since it can often take some shows a little while to get into the groove (if not a whole season) but I'm not sure I'll be back for more medicine with Mercy, Trauma, Three Rivers now will I probably be back for Hank though I didn't mind The Middle so Hank might just get a reprieve for being lumped into ABC's Wednesday comedy night (Kind of the same thing that's lucking out for Accidentally On Purpose and HIMYM).

Melrose Place is also lucky to announce Heather Locklear's return just as I was about to give up on that show.

On the other hand, I was going to totally write off Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy and they were actually pretty good again and sucked me right back in. ARGH. Cause something's going to have to give on Thursday night, and I'm just not sure what yet.

In the meantime, here's what the TV bloggers were talking about this week:

Vance ranks the new shows he's checked out from best to worst. Where did you think he put Glee and Modern Family? (Tapeworthy)

In the wake of the much ballyhooed Jenny Slate controversy, Kyle examined indecency, SNL, the FCC and drew one conclusion -- who cares? (TiFaux)

As the third season of Mad Men rolls on, BuzzSugar's got the rundown on what other projects the talented ladies of the show have lined up. (BuzzSugar)

This week, we took a first look at Al Pacino in HBO's new original movie, You Don't Know Jack. (Daemon's TV)

Trauma may not have had the best pilot ever, but hey, it had a fingerless Buddy Garrity. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

The TV Blog Coalition - What Do You Think of the New Season So Far?

Okay, so what do we think of the season so far? Not as bad as it originally looked. Some great ones, some clunkers, a fast cancellation (The Beautiful Life: TBL) already, a full season order for Glee. Not that different from every year and the cries for the worst were way overly exaggerated yet again.

Here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about this week:

With the show back for its second season, Scooter chatted with Castle star Stana Katic about working with Nathan Fillion, what she would like to see happen on the show this season and what she did during the off season. (Scooter McGavin’s 9th Green)

Vance is sidetracking to movies this week because he got to see The Boys are Back and People's Choice winner Precious at TIFF09 (Toronto Film Fest). (Tapeworthy)

Sara celebrates the premiere of Flash Forward, which features her beloved John Cho. (TiFaux)

This week, the TV Addict talked to GLEE star Chris Colfer about Kurt's coming out party. (The TV Addict)

BuzzSugar had some fun matching up which original Melrose Place character inspired which new Melrose Place character. (BuzzSugar)

The TV Blog Coalition - Get Ready!

The CW got a jump start last week with the premieres of Melrose Place (wow. painful), 90210 (wow. painful and boring) and The Vampire Dairies (wow, not as painful as I thought it would be). Gossip Girl, Supernatural and new show The Beautiful Life start this week, and they'll be joined with the onslaught of all the other network shows that seem to mostly start Thursday (with Bones, Survivor, The Office, Parks & Recreation, Community, Fringe) and everything else will seem to start next Monday after Sunday's Emmy's.

Get ready. It's all just beginning again.

Here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about this week:

It premieres and it sucked. We mean that in the best way possible when it comes to The Vampire Diaries. (TV Fanatic)

George's funeral, a married Alex and Izzie; BuzzSugar gets a peek at the upcoming sixth season of Grey's Anantomy. (BuzzSugar)

This week, Sandie interviewed Stana Katic who plays Detective Kate Beckett on Castle. (Daemon's TV)

Have you ever wanted to see Assistant Director Skinner as a meth peddling, white supremacist complete with swastika tattoos? If so, then you should be tuning into Sons of Anarchy, the greatest Shakespeare on motorcycles tale ever told. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

Vance breaks down the new Fall 2009 TV shows and why he is or isn't going to watch. (Tapeworthy)

The TV Blog Coalition - Over Summer

So summer is over isn't it? On the bright side, that means the Toronto International Film Festival starts up, as well as the better movies, and the slew of new Fall shows (which I'll break down in the next post).

The bad news? Summer is over and in Toronto, that means hiding indoors again. Wait, isn't that a good thing? No mosquito bites AND TV. HOOORAH!

Here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about this week:

This week, we checked back in with your favorite doctors at Seattle Grace and have a early review of the GREY'S ANATOMY season premiere to share with you (The TV Addict)

Which reality will Fringe take place in when season two premieres? The TV Fanatic can't wait to find out. (TV Fanatic)

We got yet another amazing Weeds finale this week. Buzz wonders: of all the seasons, which finale has been your favorite? (BuzzSugar)

This week, Eric shared some pictures from the season 6 premiere of The Office. (Daemon's TV)

After absurdly great first season, could Tool Academy 2 possible be as good as the original? In a word: yes. But Scooter was able to conjure up more than 700 more to explain why. (Scooter McGavin’s 9th Green)

Nigel picked his Top 15. Vance picked his Top 25 dance routines EVER from So You Think You Can Dance . (Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace offered an advance review of the first three episodes of Season Seven of HBO's painfully hilarious Curb Your Enthusiasm. (Televisionary)

If you ask Dan, Sandra Lee gets a bad rap -- mainly because she's a hot blonde. But this clip may make you see why many people think she's a little tough to take. (TiFaux)

The TV Blog Coalition - GLEE!

Summer is almost over which means I should have finished catching up with LAST season's stuff, but I haven't. Currently doing a marathon of Supernatural, half of it with my hand in front of my face half hiding my eyes. The other half with my eyes ogling the Winchester Brothers. Love the show but I still get freaked out watching it. Which is another reason I'm still behind on Fringe as well, and I haven't even started on Damages yet. Still, the new fall season is upon us and if I ever get it together, I may actually post about it (Glee and Modern Family are good, the rest? Who knows). Speaking of Glee, FOX (and now Global in Canada) will repeat the pilot (with deleted scenes) this Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at 9pm so if you haven't yet seen it, WATCH IT. Or I will track you down and perform the whole show myself, song and dance included. And that might get ugly.

Anyways, here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about this week:

With his new series, What Would Brian Boitano Make?, Brian Boitano proves that while the famed figure skater may not be a master chef, he is cute as a button. (TiFaux)

With September fast approaching, so to are 75 new and returning TV shows. And here to ensure you don't miss a moment of your favorite (or soon-to-be favorite) show is theTVaddict.com with our printable and downloadable season premiere calendar (The TV Addict)

Hot blood suckers playing football? See, we told you The Vampire Diaries was nothing like Twilight! (TV Fanatic)

Now that Project Runway is on Lifetime, Buzz wants to know which reality show on Bravo is your favorite. (BuzzSugar)

This week, Sandie interviewed 90210's newcomer Trevor Donovan. (Daemon's TV)

Since he is not a fan of conspiracy theories, Scooter is glad to see The National Geographic Channel try to dispel some of the common ones on the upcoming 9/11: Science and Conspiracy. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

Afro Jazz. Capoeira. Disco that doesn't suck. This is the So You Think You Can Dance Canada Top 20, eh! and Vance rates the season 2 batch. (Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace offered an advance review of USA's fantastic and stylish upcoming drama series White Collar, starring Tim DeKay and Matthew Bomer. (Televisionary)

The TV Blog Coalition - Canadelay

As much as I love the cable stuff, I'm glad fall seasons main network TV shows are starting up again, cause at least we'll be on the same timeline up here in Canada as it is in the states. I'm tired of being 4 weeks behind on everything. At this point, I'm behind several weeks on Burn Notice, Weeds, Nurse Jackie, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Leverage, Royal Pains, Top Chef Masters and I haven't even started Project Runway, Top Chef or Mad Men nor have I even checked out Make It Or Break It or Drop Dead Diva.

It will be nice when we can ALL watch Glee TOGETHER! (Starting NEXT WEEK ALREADY!!!). At least we have So You Think You Can Dance Canada over you. And if the second season is anywhere close to being as great as the first season, then it'll be great.

Meanwhile, here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about this week:

This week, Jace had an exclusive interview with True Blood's Anna Camp, in which they discuss Sarah Newlin, Camp's original audition (for the role of Sookie, no less!), the love triangle between Sarah, Jason, and Steve, Sarah's darker side, Camp's theatre work (opposite Daniel Radcliffe in Equus), whether the Newlins are gone for good, Mad Men, and lots more.. (Televisionary)

It may be summer vacation, but TiFaux was back in high school this week with three separate posts about the new DeGrassi: The Next Generation. For one, Marisa provided a "Where Are They Now?" for some of the more notable DeGrassi alumni. (TiFaux)

Taking a page from the CW's controversial ad campaign for THE BEAUTIFUL LIFE comes our gift to SMALLVILLE fans (The TV Addict)

TV Fanatic doesn't care if FlashForward is a rip-off of Lost. Each preview looks better than the one before. [TV Fanatic]

Buzz is thrilled to see some new pics from the upcoming season of How I Met Your Mother! (BuzzSugar)

This week, Sandie took at first look at Wil Wheaton guest starring in Leverage's new episode "The Two Live Crew." (Daemon's TV)

GMMR has been sucked into summer reality shows in a big way this week. Big Brother has been crazy, America's Best Dance Crew has been hot, and now we get new episodes of Project Runway - a blessing or a curse? (Give Me My Remote)

Who knew Veronica Mars and Ned the Piemaker were an item? Well, that is only in the When in Rome trailer which also features Gob Bluth. Despite being a romantic comedy, color Scooter excited. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

It's not TV related but Vance loved the new production of A Streetcar Named Desire at the Donmar Warehouse in London starring Rachel Weisz. (Tapeworthy)

The TV Blog Coalition - I Can No Longer Think In More Than 140 Characters

As I noted below, it's summer and I'm lazy so I can no longer think of anything longer than 140 characters. So I've tweeted a lot more and while I've been working on a ton of posts for the blog, I've actually published none yet. Yes, I'm that lazy right now.

Oh, I've been watching lots. Catching up with all the cable fare, seen a bunch of movies, and still on my theatre crazy kick (as I type this, I'll have seen 78 shows on stage so far this year! With tons of reviews so far behind that they're practically irrelevant now). But alas, I'll eventually blog more than just So You Think You Can Dance. Eventually...:

It's summer, it's hot, and Vance's brain can no longer think in more than 140 characters. He hasn't blogged much lately, but he's twittered the summer away. (Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace had an exclusive interview with Bones showrunner/executive producer Hart Hanson about what to expect from Season Five of Bones, Booth's mental state, Brennan's Guatemalan trip, Angela's celibacy vow, a possible return to London, Stephen Fry, and much more. (Televisionary)

Design Star -- it's no Project Runway, but it'll do during the summer doldrums. Also, Nathan and Dan are good enough eye candy to keep tuning in. (TiFaux)

The TV Addict starting counting down to Fall with previews of PRIVATE PRACTICE, THE BIG BANG THEORY and CHUCK (The TV Addict)

Dr. Gregory House trying to actually connect with people?!? Matt is excited to see if this House spoiler become a reality. [TV Fanatic]

Sandie interviewed Michaela Conlin, who plays Angela on Bones. (Daemon's TV)

The TV Blog Coalition - So What Else Is There This Summer?

Okay, so So You Think You Can Dance has ended now. Now what? Fall season starts early this September, but never fret, Top Chef and Project Runway starts again soon enough! And if you're lucky enough to live in Canada, we get So You Think You Can Dance Canada starting tomorrow!

Plus, I'm actually enjoying Dating in the Dark. Don't judge me. It's not as trashy as it sounds. Not AS trashy as it sounds. And while I haven't checked out Shark Tank yet, I do enjoy Dragon's Den, the show it's based on, and the US version poached 2 of the Canadian investors. (If you don't know what the show is about, it's basically entrepreneurs showing their ideas and trying to woo the investors on the panel to give them their own real money).

Meanwhile, here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about this week:

In his first retrospective of the closing decade that he will be releasing over the next year, Scooter counts down The 100 Greatest Television Shows of the 00’s. Sadly Flavor of Love just missed the cut. (Scooter McGavin’s 9th Green)

One more month until Glee!!! Whee!!! Can you tell Vance is really excited? (Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace had an exclusive video interview with Doctor Who and Torchwood writer/executive producer Russell T. Davies and director Euros Lyn about what's coming up on the final David Tennant Doctor Who specials, a possible fourth season of Torchwood, the return of some familiar faces, and many, many other things. (Televisionary)

It's fun and it's quippy! Enter to win the first season of Leverage on DVD by e-mailing us with the last thing you stole. (TiFaux)

The parties, the stars and all of your favorite show. Follow the fun as the TV Addict covers TCA 2009 direct from Pasadena California (The TV Addict)

Matt can't wait to see Rachel Evan Wood on True Blood. As if this show could get any more fun/ridiculous! (TV Fanatic)

Kate wondered which oldie but goodie The CW will tackle next (TV Filter)

Buzz headed backstage at the So You Think You Can Dance finale and reported 10 things you didn't see on TV. (BuzzSugar)

This week, Sandie took at first look at Syfy's Alice, a re-imagining of "Alice in Wonderland." (Daemon's TV)

The TV Blog Coalition - Summer Dancing

I swear I'll start writing about shows other than So You Think You Can Dance one of these days once I'm done with summer vacation (on the other hand, here's the usual SYTYCD panel chat about the Top 6 that was missed from last week's post) although if you think it's ending after this week's finale, guess again. The Canadian version starts next week and the new US version starts in a month!

In the meantime, check in with what the other TV bloggers are talking about:

With the Project Runway premiere coming up, Buzz challenged you to match some past designs with their creators. (BuzzSugar)

For this month's induction into the Scooter Hall of Fame, Angel is paid homage to. (Scooter McGavin' 9th Green)

And they made the final cut on So You Think You Can Dance and Vance KNOWS you're bitching about stuff about the Top 4. (Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace had an exclusive interview with Doctor Who's David Tennant, who talked about his legacy to the Doctor Who franchise, the upcoming "End of Time" Christmas Special, and the Doctor's sartorial choices. (Televisionary)

Dan shared a video about a boy and his fake girlfriend by the band Telekinesis. (TiFaux)

Gareth saw the first episode of FlashForward and, while sworn to secrecy, was quite impressed... (TV Spy)

The TV Blog Coalition - Comic Conned

Comic Con is on, but I don't really care this year. Does that make me a bad blogger? Or bad TV nerd? I figured every other blogger is already covering it (since they are there) so why bother telling you all that SOMETHING BIG IS GOING TO HAPPEN ON "LOST"? Cause like that's actually going to help. Plus I really don't need to hear more about Twilight or Avatar since it will just dilute it all until the movies actually come out. Though the bit about the two rival fans taking over Comic Con is kinda funny. I'll just stand over here by the GLEEKS as I watch the virgin tween girls fight it out with the creepy virgin dudes.

Anyways, here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about this week:

After watching the long-awaited DVD release of The State: The Complete Series, Marisa was pleasantly surprised to see how well the show stood the test of time. (TiFaux)

Follow the TV Addict as he braves 120,000 costumed crusaders at San Diego Comic Con 2009 (The TV Addict)

For us, the summer is all about SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. If you're a fan, check out the latest SYTYCD Edition of The TV Talk Podcast with GMMR & Ducky. We talk performances, the 100th ep & why we love/hate Katie Holmes. (The TV Talk Podcast)

After Mischa Barton's mental and physical issues, Matt is glad the CW working on a contingency plan for The Beautiful Life. (TV Fanatic)

It is the battle of the covers with American Idol's Brooke White, singing Kings of Leon's Use Somebody, taking on newcomer Aimee Allen who puts her spin on Santeria by Sublime. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

Vance wanted no hate for the remaining Top 8 dancers, but he felt the Cancer Dance was a little manipulative on So You Think You Can Dance (Tapeworthy)

Buzz wondered if TV series reboots like 90210 and Melrose Place are better or worse off for bringing back old characters. (BuzzSugar)

The TV Blog Coalition - Bachelorettes, Real and TV Edition

Sad that I'm STILL catching up with May finales (I JUST watched the Survivor finale. Man, people were way harsh on Stephen) but I've been still strangely crazy busy even though I finally had some time off. Been planning a wedding (not mine, a friend's) because apparently, being gay and in the arts industry automatically makes you a good wedding planner (which incidentally, I am). I just co-threw the bachelorette party (we went ziplining and tree-top walking! WHEE!!! (though that's what you get when you get a male to throw the bachelorette party. I nixed the Spa idea. Boring.)), though when I said that, some friends thought I meant a viewing party for the TV show. Yes, that's tonight. (Half-kidding but how excited am I about the Men Tell All episode? What the heck is Wes going to say before he gets mauled by the crowd?).

Anyways, here's what the other TV bloggers talked about this past week:

This week, Jace had an advance review of the five-episode event Torchwood: Children of Earth, airing every night on BBC America this coming week, and had an exclusive interview with Torchwood executive producer Julie Garner. (Televisionary)

The TV Addict offers up his take on the 2009 Emmy Nods: The Good, The Bad and the Who Does BSG Have to Frak to Get Some Emmy Recognition! {The TV Addict)

During the summer doldrums, Sara has been catching up on Rescue Me. It's a great show, but there's one character who drives her nuts! (TiFaux)

Kate wondered which season of The Bachelor was the most boring. (TV Filter)

Matt is 29 years old and a male. But he's seen the first episode of The Vampire Diaries and is a major fans. (TV Fanatic)

Buzz took a break from all the Emmy mania to check out the models who will appear on the Project Runway companion series, Models of the Runway. (BuzzSugar)

How much does Buster Bluth want you to watch his webseries CTRL, Scooter has a video of how much and why you should do what Buster says. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

It's not TV related but Vance LOVED the movie (500) Days of Summer. Boy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt sure has grown up since 3rd Rock From The Sun. (Tapeworthy)

The TV Blog Coalition - Season Finales Two Months Late

So I've been STILL playing MASSIVE TV catch up and only just finally watched the finales for tons of the ABC stuff (Pushing Daisies, Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters). Though I didn't mean to do a ABC marathon, it just happened that way. (Finished Gossip Girl too, which is really just like a younger version of the ABC melodramedies). Oh, did I mention I also finally watched the finale for The Amazing Race? I know. Yet still fun even though I knew the results! You know a reality show is good when it's still fun to watch after being spoiled. I also still have the finale for Survivor to watch/fast forward through though I've actually forgotten who won so it might still be a surprise to me.

Alas, that means I might finally have time to catch up with all the cable summer shows as well (some which I've kept up on, some I don't get in Canada right now so I don't even have that option). Still, one of my surprise faves from this past season, TNT's Leverage returns with a new season this Wednesday at 9pm and I can't wait. I seriously didn't think the show would be any good but the show is far more clever and fun than the ads would lead you to believe. The new Dylan McDermott show Dark Blue premieres after at 10pm and I'll have a review of it on Wednesday.

In the meantime, here's what the TV bloggers were talking about this week. And yes, it's my turn to be first in the new rotation system. I'm not just being a spotlight hog!:

So You Think You Can Dance has finally cut it down to the Top 10! Vance still doesn't really know who his favorite is yet. (Tapeworthy)

Sex and Candy! This week, Jace had an exclusive interview with True Blood's baby vampire Jessica Hamby, a.k.a. actress Deborah Ann Woll. (Televisionary)

After watching 16 and Pregnant, Marisa felt pretty good about her decision to not get knocked up in high school. And to not buy that baby a dirtbike. (TiFaux)

Ashley checked out ABC Family's "10 Things I Hate About You" and decided it didn't live up to the Heath Ledger classic. (Tube Talk)

Did you know that VERONICA MARS star Kristen Bell needs YOU.... to help make the VERONICA MARS movie a reality! (The TV Addict)

The premiere was too long, and the characters a bit too cliched, but Matt will stick with Warehouse 13 this summer. (TV Fanatic)

Buzz wondered: Are there any TV genres you just won't watch under any circumstances? (BuzzSugar)

Most people were concerned with replacing Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles on the television adaptation of 10 Things I Hate About You, Scooter cared more with how they could possibly fill the shoes of Alex Mack. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

The TV Blog Coalition - Summer Switch!

After about a year and a half of TV Blog Coalition posts, we're switching things up! How rebellious of us! Okay, just a little switch. We are going to rotate the order of the linkages every week moving up the alphabetical orders and stuff. I know!!! Shocking! Not quite an Obama change but still a change (and a bigger change than the U.S. LGBT policies have seen since Jan. Oh snap.)

Anyways, one of these days I'll get back to actually writing TV posts but since you're probably all sitting by the beach drinking a mojito anyways, it doesn't really matter for now. Me? I prefer a Caipirinha.

Here's what the TV bloggers were talking about this past week:

Scooter is giving away an Ice Road Truckers prize pack that includes the first two seasons on DVD. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

The group dance on the So You Think You Can Dance results show was a perfect time to show the differences in camerawork from the Canadian version. Vance shows an example, plus discusses Top 14 week. (Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace proposed that not all culinary-themed television series are created equal, ranking such series as Bravo's Top Chef and Top Chef Masters, BBC America's F Word, Food Network's Chopped, and FOX's Hell's Kitchen.(Televisionary)

As The Fashion Show reaches its halfway point, Dan discovered the cause of all the chew marks on the show's scenery -- useless co-host Kelly Rowland. (TiFaux)

Matt can't believe that Showtime has pulled off a half-hour drama. But Nurse Jackie does it well. (TV Fanatic)

This week GMMR & Ducky posted not one, but two new podcasts for your listening pleasure. Check out our SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Top 14 podcast as well as our latest summer viewing podcast in which we talk about TRUE BLOOD, NURSE JACKIE, SUPERNATURAL and more. (The TV Talk Podcast)

The TV Blog Coalition - Racing To Catch Up On My TV Backlog

It's almost July (Happy Canada Day! Happy Independence Day! Happy Pride Day recovery!) so is it weird that I finally have time to watch the last few episodes of The Amazing Race even though I already know what happens? It's still surprisingly entertaining!

Anyways, for more up to date TV talk, check out the other TV bloggers:

With network TV ratings on the decline, Buzz wondered if you — yes, you! — are watching less TV this Summer than usual. (BuzzSugar)

This week, Sandie interviewed Rutina Wesley who plays Tara on HBO's True Blood. (Daemon's TV)

Scooter pays tribute to Michael Jackson. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

Other than So You Think You Can Dance, Vance didn't have much time to watch TV last week because he was out in the park watching Twelfth Night starring Anne Hathaway, Raul Esparza (Pushing Daisies), Audra McDonald (Private Practice), Hamish Linklater (New/Old Christine) and more. (Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace offered an elegy for ABC's canceled The Unusuals and offered advance reviews of FOX's Virtuality and the first four episodes of HBO's Hung. (Televisionary)

The TV Blog Coalition - The Reality of Theatre in Canada: The TV Show

I'm FINALLY going to have time to catch up with the season finales (yes. I'm THAT behind on TV these days. Blame work and then a week vacation in NY where I went theatre crazy). So I will talk about TV more again soon enough, but probably not before I start churning out a ton of theatre reviews.

If you're in Canada in the meantime, you can watch the great reality show that combines the two worlds (TV and theatre) as CBC brings back Triple Sensation tonight at 8pm (on Mondays this summer). I actually loved the first season where John Michael Scapin won (and now currently using his scholarship money to attend theatre school at NYU. Of course, you gotta love that our "reality show" is a bit more subdued and less glamourous and the show is really just a glorified documentary about the theatre audition process, and the winner comes out with a scholarship (and not some hot role our big bucks). Still, it's a lot of fun to watch these young talented kids grow and learn (they are not just auditioned but given lessons from top theatre folks).

The "marquee" panel is also back for Season 2, which includes choreographer Sergio Trujillo (Guys and Dolls, Jersey Boys, Memphis), composer Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line), actress Cynthia Dale, director Adrian Noble (former artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company in London), and producer Garth Drabinsky (isn't he in jail now?). Last time they also had guest mentors appear including Chita Rivera and Joel Grey so I'm sure more people will pop by this year.

Anyways, here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about (and probably non-theatre related):

Will you watch four additional hours of The Real Housewives of New Jersey? Come on, be honest. (BuzzSugar)

"It's the end of the world, Cappie. What are you going to do?" If you missed the season finale of Greek, check out our recap. If you've never seen the show, now is a great time to get caught up. You won't be disappointed. (Give Me My Remote)

The second of three shows about nurses coming this year, Hawthorne debuted this week and set set itself apart by, um, well, staring Jada Pinkett Smith and that is about it. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

It's summer so all Vance can talk about is So You Think You Can Dance! This week, his take on the Top 18 performances. (Tapeworthy)

As we say goodbye to Pushing Daisies and prepare to say goodbye to Kings, Marisa has just one question: What the heck is wrong with you people? (TiFaux)

Raoul wrote HawthoRNe a Dear John letter. Yes, already. (TV Filter)

This week, the TV Addict crafted an Open Letter to Dawn Ostroff, CW President of Entertainment (The TV Addict)

The TV Blog Coalition - So You Think You Can Vance

I swear this blog isn't just about So You Think You Can Dance though I'm sure it's hard to tell from the last couple of weeks. And you probably still won't be able to tell from the next couple of weeks too. (I'm just warning you now).

In the meantime, I'm in NY again for the week for more theatre catch-up so I'll probably be churning out more theatre reviews again (even though I'm still behind on a ton, not that most of you care). Still, GO SEE HAIR on Broadway. WOW. It's like getting high but without the worry of being arrested!

But I am STILL catching up with the season finales (I know, it's been weeks, almost months, and to think I can attempt to call myself a TV blogger... shame on me) but I'll eventually blog about some noteworthy ones. Maybe.

Anyways, here's some REAL TV bloggers that can occupy your time:

So, Futurama is back. Buzz wonders: Is this cause for celebration — or just puzzlement? (BuzzSugar)

This week, Sandie interviewed Angel Coulby and Anthony Head from the new NBC show, Merlin. (Daemon's TV)

This past week was a lot of fun. Jimmy Fallon & his guests had us laughing. Top Chef Masters returned to make us hungry. And our favorite reality show, So You Think You Can Dance, made us want to dance. (Give Me My Remote)

Scooter unveils the Best Television Shows of the 2008-2009 season. Sadly I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! just missed the eligibility deadline. Maybe next year. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

Not even a pretty face and an English accent can save the hyper-mediocre new show Mental. (TiFaux)

Vance thought it was such a strong first week Top 20 performance, that he doesn't know who to love right now on So You Think You Can Dance!(Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace reviewed the first four episodes of Season Two of True Blood, talked to Alan Ball about what to expect this season, and had a candid interview with Virtuality co-creator Michael Taylor about the upcoming FOX airing of the two-hour pilot. (Televisionary)

This week, the TV Addict shone the spotlight on the Broadway invasion that is upon us when the new slate of shows premiere this Fall 2009. (The TV Addict)

The more he reads about various Flash Forward characters, the more excited Matt gets about this show. (TV Fanatic)

The TV Blog Coalition - More Hair Talk, This Time on TV

I forgot to mention yesterday that Raising the Bar was returning for its second season (on TNT on Mondays at 10pm). You know, that new Zack Morris show, now that Mark-Paul Gosselaar is grown up. Plus a cast full of those "that guy" or "that girl" (seriously, great casts with resumes that include Malcolm in the Middle, Angel, Men In Trees, Boston Legal, Ugly Betty, ER and of course Saved by the Bell: The New Class AND the original). And yeah, I actually really enjoyed most of the first season despite it trying too hard sometimes. I say most only because I'm still catching up with the final 2 episodes before I start last night's Season 2 Premiere where they FINALLY fix the biggest problem with the show. Mark-Paul's scraggly hair from the first season. Even the episode was called Hair Apparent. You gotta love that!

Here's what the other TV bloggers were talking about:

Buzz gathered up her favorite quotes from the TV season in a mega "Who Said That Line?" quiz. How many do you remember? (BuzzSugar)

This week, Sandie got a chance to interview Stephen Moyer who plays Bill on HBO's True Blood. (Daemon's TV)

Scooter spent most of his week still dancing with the GrooGrux King and the Dave Matthews Band. (Scooter McGavin’s 9th Green)

Vance chats about the newly announced Season 5 Top 20 So You Think You Can Dance dancers with his new bsytycdff LowResJoe, TwoP Lauren S and ABChau. YAY! It's STARTING!!! (Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace offered advance reviews for the first six episodes of Showtime's Nurse Jackie and the first three episodes of Weeds and reviewed the pilots for CW's Melrose Place and ABC's The Middle. (Televisionary)

Marisa's liking Conan so far on The Tonight Show, but it's only been a few episodes. Let's not get too excited. (TiFaux)

The TV Blog Coalition - It's JUNE Already?

The TV landscape is looking mighty thin these days with only So You Think You Can Dance (and... um... The Bachelorette shhhhhh) to watch, (well, Greek but I don't get it here... poo), but luckily the other cable networks are starting their season premieres with Burn Notice and new show Royal Pains starting on Thursday, NBC and CTV's The Listener starting Wednesday, and Raising the Bar starting season 2 next Monday. Plus, Better Off Ted will be back starting June 23rd for 6 more NEW episodes! (And of course, the remaining two episodes of Pushing Daisies on Saturdays at 10pm).

Granted, I still haven't even caught up with the season finales yet (still need to do Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives, The Amazing Race, Survivor, Ugly Betty, Gossip Girl amongst others) so personally I'm still fully stocked for entertainment for these leaner weeks.

Anyways, here's what everyone else it blogging about this week:

Buzz counted down the top 10 reasons she's keeping her TV on this summer. (BuzzSugar)

This week, Sandie interviewed Amy Ryan who plays the adorable Holly on The Office. (Daemon's TV)

With the end of the Spring television season recently passed, Scooter hands out the Fifth Annual Scooter Television Awards. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)

Vance has the scoop on the new kids at Degrassi: TNG, the alums moving on to The CW, ABC, and Spring Awakening and his thoughts on the upcoming TV movie special Degrassi Goes Hollywood! (Tapeworthy)

This week, Jace reviewed the full pilot episodes of such series as ABC's Eastwick, FOX's Human Target, and ABC's The Deep End. (Televisionary)

Dan came across this bizarre video of Heroes' Zachary Quinto getting doused with milk. He wants to know what could be done to make the erstwhile Mr. Sylar less sexy in this video. (TiFaux)

Matt isn't good at math, but Edie Falco + a drug-addicted, well-intentioned nurse = must-see viewing of Nurse Jackie (TV Fanatic).

This week, the TV Addict suggested TV, DVD and Online Video alternatives to help you survive the network's summer offerings, or lack their-of. (The TV Addict)
