Friday Night Lights - Friday Nights Are For Getting It On

Let's Get It On - Ep. 205

Almost teary moment of the week: When Landry's father starts suspecting something with Tyra and tells her to stay away from Landry.

Teary moment of the week: When Tyra breaks up with Landry, even though she doesn't want to, and refrains from telling Landry the real reason.

Heartbreaking moment of the week: When Matt leaves the dinner table with Eric and Smash, after finding himself the ultimate rebound guy (with Julie, with Eric as a Coach)

Funniest moment of the week, #1: When Eric tries to seduce Tami with candles and dimming the lights, only to be rebuffed to the living room.

Funniest moment of the week, #2: When Eric tries to seduce Tami after giving her a night out to get drunk with the girls, only to be rebuffed once again.

Funniest moment of the week, #3: When Mac Macgill tries to offer Eric some advice in seducing the wife in those weeks after a birth, only to be rebuffed by a disgusted Eric.

Funniest moment of the week, #4: When Tami is finally ready to get it on.

Funniest moment of the week, #5: When Tim asks for money for the booze cruise.

Julie smartens up and tries to get back with Matt, but Matt is wise to her return and rebuffs her advances, asking Tami what he should do.

I am getting nervous for Landry and Tyra, as Landry's father is putting together the clues quicker than the usual bumbling-idiot-father/sheriffs/adult would on any other Hollywood produced TV show with teens it in. I mean, even on Degrassi, the adults know less than the kids. It's not the case in Dillon, thank god. Still, I worry.

Coach Eric Taylor returns to the Panthers and he certainly doesn't know less than the kids. The Panthers are a mess and Eric must fix it. Saracen and Smash are still fighting and he attempts at resolving their issues over dinner which ends with Matt walking out with my complete sympathies based on his point of view (even though he doesn't have all the facts right).

Tyra doesn't have all the facts right either when she shows up in Mexico after Tim's request. She's there to help save Jason, reconnects with Tim before Jason has a cathartic moment throwing himself off the booze cruise.

And finally, even with Landry's bigger problems in the back of his mind, Eric, forcing Smash and Saracen to sit out of the game until they resolve their issues, puts Lance... er... "that Lance kid"!!! LANDRY into the game and despite some early mistakes, ends up making 2 great plays that help the Panthers win in a last minute effort!

Another satisfying episode of Friday Night Lights, another one to get excited about! Someone pass me a smoke? (Kiddin' I've got better things to waste my money on than smokes)

What's the name of the tune that played at the end of the episode?... Sounded like it might be Coldplay, but maybe not.

Apparently it's Blue Merle
