You Can Touch Me Anytime - Strike or No Strike

As some of you may know, not only is there a writers strike in the States, but the theatre stagehands in New York have gone on strike, shutting down many Broadway shows including my beloved Spring Awakening. (I detail a full list of open and closed shows, as well as great Off-Broadway alternatives here at ModFab where I'm guest blogging for the week).

Anyways, I had heard that the cast of Spring Awakening had performed "Touch Me" outside on the street for the fans who were locked out of the theatre after they had to start cancelling shows on Saturday. John Gallagher Jr. even brought out his ukelele! I had been looking for the video clip all weekend and now here it finally is!:

Below is another clip of the same thing with better sound but worse picture.

If you did buy theatre tickets for shows that are being cancelled, there is a way of getting a refund that doesn't involve dragging a chorus boy into the alley beside the theatre and forcing him to sing... or other things.

All the Off-Broadway shows are not affected and continue to run.
