Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade - Excuse Me, Did You Just Say Menudo?

I fast forwarded through some of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to all the musical portions. The parade, which to be honest, I only discovered in recent years since again, it's not our holiday up here, and those giant balloons always mystified/scared/astounded me, but I discovered that they showcase some great numbers (but usually badly lip synched for TV purposes) from the Broadway productions (uh, when they're not on strike) from up the street. Plus The Jonas Brothers, anybody who is still unemployed from High School Musical 2, and Menudo (say what?!?).

And before I get to the clips, um, here's the Spring Awakening cast again... um... selling their soul (sorry Liz) but I love this cast and someone finally scanned together the Vanity Fair spread so here it is:

And here are the two adorable leads Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff of Spring Awakening singing "Give My Regards to Broadway" at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day:

The cast of Xanadu performs a medley of "All Over the World", "Magic", and "Xanadu". Seriously. Just watching Kerry Butler and Cheyenne Jackson is hysterical enough in what ModFab describes as "The Gayest Gay in the History of Gay: Because it is, hands down, without question, the gayest experience I've ever had. Gayer than the pride parade. Gayer than c--ksucking. Gay gay gay gay gay. And that, in this case, is a great, fabulous thing. The show is pure cheap fun, transformed from shaky kitsch into entertaining musical comedy by a truly spectacular cast.":

Cast of Young Frankenstein performs "Transylvania Mania" at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Dr. Frankenstein is played by Roger Bart (Desperate Housewives, The Producers), the girl Inga is played by Broadway superstar (and completely deserving of the title) Sutton Foster and Christopher Fitzgerald as Igor. Poor Sutton Foster, apparently she's terribly underused in this show and it's too bad because after seeing The Drowsy Chaperone, I get what all the fuss is about her. She really IS that amazing!

There, now you've saved yourself $450 dollars. Honestly, Kristin Chenowith and Zachary Levi made the best career move possible, signing onto Pushing Daisies and Chuck and leaving this supposed smash behind. (Both were initially to have done this musical if their TV shows didn't pan out, whose laughing now?).

More after the jump including Legally Blonde and Hairspray:

Here's the cast of Legally Blonde the Musical singing "What You Want", which to be honest, I was surprised since they have much better numbers (in a musical that was better than I imagined).

Nikki Blonsky of the Hairspraymovie singing "You Can't Stop the Beat" at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I couldn't find the Menudo clip on youtube (and I didn't actually watch it, please, even I'm not that curious) but here was something just as horrendous:

He left to do the pilot and Roger Bart came aboard.

You are effing kidding me. Bananas! A Broadway-quality singer AND an adorable nerd type? I knew I loved him for a reason...

Hi, I like your blog. I see you are talking about Macys here. Well, I used to be their constant customer, then after a certain accident I stopped going there. In some time my friends too. I went to this great site www.pissedconsumer.com to see if anyone else had problems with the company and it turned out that my friends and I were not alone.
