So You Think You Can Dance - And The Season 4 Winner IS...

Season 4 Finale - The Cut From The Final Four To The One Winner
Judges Panel: Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Mia Michaels, Adam Shankman, Debbie Allen, Lil'C

Alright, so get ready for the announcement of the Season 4 SYTYCD winner! Just after 2 (padded) hours with clips (that they will repeat at the tour) of the highlights from the season! YAY! (And as a reminder, my picks after the Top 4 Performances was for Katee to win, but for Joshua to actually take the crown tonight)

Already, in the first 5 minutes they've used Kylie Minoque's "Wow" and David Cook's "Time of my Life" and we haven't even started dancing yet.

So let the dancing begin with the Top 20 Group Performance!!!
Hip Hop - Choreographed by Shane Sparks
Song: "Boom" - SIN feat. T-Pain

Oh how I miss Chelsie Hightower, Kherington, Gev and Mark but between the opening intros and the group dance, I also realised I missed Comfort, Chelsea Traille, Thayne, Matt and Jamie. How cute was Jamie in the centre of the Hip Hop number? The same dance that basically booted him out in the first week?

BTW, there were rumours that Nigel really wanted the final four to be Will, Joshua, Kherington and Chelsie but also fought hard for Twitch (which ultimately screwed up his final four). Also of note, Katee and Mark were originally paired together but then split apart because of having the two asians together. Man, THAT would have been a really interesting partnership. Why WEREN'T they partnered together?

Every judge gets to pick their favorite routine of the season and I'll throw in my own personal favorites if they aren't covered as well.

Nigel gets to go first and picks Katee and Joshua's Bollywood from Top 12 Week - Choreographed by Nakul Dev Mahajan
Song: "Dhoom Taana" - Om Shanti Om (Soundtrack)

Mary chooses Courtney and Gev's Rumba from Top 16 Week - Choreographed by Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin
Song: "Wishing on a Star" - Rose Royce

There's the showdown between Poppers Robert Moraine and Phillip Shebib to Kanye West's "Stronger" with Robert winning.

Adam chooses Comfort and Twitch's Hip Hop - Top 10 Week - Choreographed by Dave Scott
Song: "Forever" - Chris Brown

Lil'C chooces MY FAVORITE DANCE OF THE SEASON Chelsie and Mark's Hip Hop - Top 16 Week - Choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon Dumo
Song: "Bleeding Love" - Leona Lewis

Next up? Mary Murphy and DMITRY! With his SHIRT OFF AGAIN! Doing the Salsa!
Dancing to "Baila, Baila" - Angela Via

Mary didn't even look like she was trying. She was just enjoying being tossed around by Dmitri Chaplin. Then again, who wouldn't?

Mia Michaels chooses Katee and Will's Pas de Deux - Top 10 Week - Choreographed by Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson
Song: "Imagine" - David Archuleta

Adam gets to pick again and chooses Courtney and Mark's Jazz - Top 6 Week - Choreographed by Sonya Tayeh
Song: "The Garden" - Mirah

Then they FINALLY make the first results announcement and to no surprise, Courtney is the first one cut from the Top 4. Courtney was AWESOME but had a bit of the underdog feel to her and probably started to peak too late, when Joshua, Katee and Twitch had already cemented their fanbase.

So so long Courtney Galiano (to "It's Only Life"—Kate Voegele). Loved your dancing and your spunk!

There's the repeat of Nigel Lythgoe's choreographed number of the Top 5 Guys Group Performance
Song: "5 Guys Named Moe" - Joe Jackson

The Cast of Criss Angel: Believe performs "Homage to the Rabbits"—Eric Serra, Choreographed by Wade Robson and it freaks me out because it reminds me of Donnie Darko.

Then the second results announcement is finally made and the second person cut is...

Katee. WHAT???

WHAT???

I know she was probably going to be beat out by Joshua for the top prize but I thought she would have come close. All the online poles had her on top actually. WHAT??? You can see the look on Mia's face that she's shocked too.

There's small consolation for her in that Cat Deeley announces that there is a top prize for the Top Girl this year, so Katee walks away with $50k as a prize. Probably because the judges realizes she deserved to win just as much as Joshua and felt to add that at the last minute. And deservedly so.

I'm still shocked.

So so long Katee Shean (to "From Where You Are" - Lifehouse). You were AMAZING. (And you should have won).

Then the Debbie Allen Dance Academy featuring Nigel Lythgoe dances to "Boogie Wonderland" — Earth, Wind and Fire.
Little people! dancing! So cute! Nigel dancing! So cute!

Mary gets to choose again with another of my faves, Katee and Twitch's Contemporary - Top 8 Week - Choreographed by Mia Michaels
Song: "Mercy" - Duffy

And because someone wants to make sure we ALL LOVE The Jonas Brothers by the end of the summer, they perform "Burnin' Up":

Debbie chooses Kherington and Twitch's Viennese Waltz - Top 18 Week - Choreographed by Jean-Marc Genereux
Song: "A New Day Has Come" - Celine Dion

Nigel chooses his last choice, and another fave of mine, Katee and Joshua's Hip Hop - Top 20 Week - Choreographed by Napoleon and Tabitha D'Umo
Song: "No Air" - Jodan Sparks & Chris Brown

There's a recap of what's happened to some of the former SYTYCD contestants including Blake from Season 1 who will be a judge on So You Think You Can Dance Canada (starting on CTV September 24th) but THEN!!! There's a group performance from the Best of SYTYCD!!!

OMG... TRAVIS! IVAN! BENJI! I think my heart just skipped a beat.
Best of So You Think You Can Dance feat. Dominic (S3), Lauren (S3), Travis Wall (S2), Anya (S2), Benji (S2Winner), Ivan (S2), Ryan (S1), Hok (S3), Ashlé (S1), Dmitry (S2) and probably a few others I missed.
Song: "Don't Stop The Music" - Rihanna

Oh man. I miss Ivan! And Travis really was the best dancer of all the seasons wasn't he?

So they FINALLY announce the winner and it ISN'T Twitch.
