Who Needs Broadway? I'm Taking A Drive To Stratford Next Year

Wow, Brian Dennehy is coming to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario (about 2 hours from Toronto) for next years season. He will be joining his Inherit the Wind co-star Christopher Plummer (The Sound of Music, just don't ask him about it) to add some star power. This is on top of the already announced casting of Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls) as well as Simon Callow (Four Weddings and A Funeral) coming to develop a new play. And Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys) coming as co-director of the festival (and directing as well) Wow. What a resurgence!

I was pleasantly surprised by the regainment of quality at Stratford this year for their musicals (after a few downturn years) and was a bit shocked with the first casting announcement) so this is all great news!

We are heading there too albeit a longer drive for us! Saw BD and CP in ITTW last May and were amazed...powerhouses.
I have always wanted to attend Stratford so, as a huge BD fan, this was my push to finally make the trip.

Looking forward to it.

I am enjoying looking around your blog!

Regards,
Sue

It's kind of funny that both CP and BD are coming up after doing a joint show!
